In the weekly Warrior Mini-Goal Challenge focus on your short term goals.

Focusing on one week at a time, when the big picture seems too overwhelming. Small changes can bring on big results!!

Choose one or more things you want to work on for just this week. Don't set it too high or unreachable!!

Please, make sure your week works for you. Sun to Sat or Mon to Sun, whatever is YOUR week!

You can reach your main goal if you break it into small actionable steps. It could be as easy as 1-2-3!

1) Choose something you know you can do easily.
2) Add more difficult tasks to your plan.
3) These small steps will get you started, motivated & help build routine for long term success!!

Anyone interested in joining us for another week, or a first week, or a get back on track week?

Check in often, have a great week and do the best you can! B)<3

It's going to be a great week for us all - full of accomplishments and goals met!

I'm so glad you're all in my life.. seems I've been flitting in and out of yours recently. I'm back, recommitted and ready to Rumba! Well I don't know how to actually do that..but I'll join you on the thread just the same.

Hello again Warriors - and Happy International Women's day!

I am back from a couple of days with my mom who lives out of town. I am one of her caregivers/POA - essentially co-ordinate all her services so she can stay at home as long as possible. It is a little bit like having kids at home again! I enjoy my time with her, and I also find I cannot look after myself very well.

So - I did a weigh-in for myself yesterday...and I am the EXACT SAME WEIGHT as when I started 4 weeks ago - so I was thoroughly discouraged. Perhaps it is okay as I am not GAINING like before....and that includes my 8 day vacation...which didn't set me back. But still.....argh!

I don't think I have been consistent enough.
And I think I have been eating too many of my calories from exercise.
I am cheating a bit more - not so much on purpose - but I think my old thinking, that I can get away with a glass of wine with dinner - doesn't stand up so well with my changed metabolism...

I still can't seem to wrap my head around the fact that I have to change my approach toward food FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE....I feel sorry for myself, or sad for all the future goodies I won't have anymore, or just think I will feed my OCD - what a bad attitude. I need to change my attitude for things to work.

And the thing is, I love many many other wonderful things in my life.

Alright. Attitude change ahead...I know you all relate!!

My mini-goal this week is very simple.

    1. Break from wine 5 days in a row (0/5) - for the remainder of this week.

It may be a supportable habit and cuts out 200 calories per day....

Happy Thursday Everyone. Keep making as many smart choices as you can. My week has been so-so but still moving forward.

Hearts- How is your week going? were you able to make it to the pool yet? keep moving forward and know that we are all here for you.

Molly-You are making steady progress with your goals. it is terrific. keep it going.

Julie- I hear you and feel your frustration. But with all you have going on, staying the same is a victory. I also know what a challenge it is to take care of yourself when taking care of an aging parent or other family member. even if you are not physically with them there is still a lot that needs to be done or just plain thought about. You are also correct about making a change of habits with food and drink. but it is not all bad news. you will be able to have treats etc just planned out and it will be okay as long as you keep things in check.

    Wednesday check in

    1. Check in daily 3/7
    2. walk 5,000 2/7
    3. 2 workouts of at least 20 minutes 0/2

Julie, I think a maintain is awesome considering vacation and everything else. A maintain means you did something right and balanced. No beating yourself up. I know you will make progress as long as you do not give up and continue to make need adjustments one day at a time  Keep up the good work and hang in there.

Hello lovely warriors. Thank you for your support!!

Paulette - It is true that my mom takes up a lot of my mental energy too, even when I am not with her, I fret about her!

Molly - I am happy not to have had the 3rd option (gaining!!), but I think I lean on my active lifestyle a bit too much for a free pass to lots of nibbles and snacks...I was thinking I need some all or nothing type rules that I just follow. No thinking about it. For example, no snacking in between meals. Or one snack, like an apple. And that's the rule. I am a bit of a rule follower so it might work for me.

But for now, here is my mini-goal of the week :)

Break from wine 5 days in a row (1/5) - One down, 4 to go!

    Julie,
I understand leaning on activity too much too. That is why I am doing better now is because I took my fitpoints (exercise calories) out of the equation and now I am losing more weight by not eating them back or using them.

    Hello Paulette,

Good job on checking in and steps too!! We can do this! B)

I have did 7000 steps 5 days in a row which is a record for me! If I get a blue dot today that will be a 1st also. I have not been able to get even 4 days. I am going to stick to 5 as a goal until I am more consistent with it and we get weekly points which allows us to have splurges. And I am cooking now so the plan is for today to be a blue dot day too.

Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend!

    Goals week of 3/6:
    1) Four blue dot days on WW - 4/5

    Hello warrior ladies,

I have been doing well, but not so well on the one goal I set for myself; I like my wine! however, I have been restricting myself to only one glass. I have also reduced my intake goal to a more sedentary goal and had a good weekend full of activity - in which I did not feel deprived. I also did a big grocery shop in order to have my fridge full of healthy options so I can eat out less at work.

So I will go forth with a few goals as before and stick with the tracking and being green. That is the bread and butter of this application (figures I would pick a food analogy for that!!)

Molly - you are doing so well - it's amazing to see. Is a blue dot day essentially a fitpal "green" (staying within the calorie goal?) You are doing an awful lot of steps not to be eating them as well. You are on the right track - keep it up, things are working well for you and that's awesome. Good luck with steps this weekend. I find my steps also drops by half on the weekend.

Paulette - hope you were able to get a workout in - your steps are looking on track, so way to go! I would love to go to more regular workouts that are included in my gym membership....but I find I over schedule myself and the time to go evaporates. I need to schedule it in. What about you?

See you in the next thread and have a good Sunday!!

Hello Julie, good to see you check in today! You know you can have your cake and eat it too with you wine. In many countries people have a serving of wine daily and wine is good for us, so have you thought about just working it into you normal plan? I know this comes up at WW too. An there are quite a few members who love their wine and work it into the plan. Just something to think about. It is about moderation. I have a piece or two of dark chocolate most days. I did it when I was doing calories and I do it now with WW plan.

Yes blue dots is same as in green lol. They give you a healthy eating range and you get a blue dot if you eat within that range.

Thanks you and Paulette for the encouraging words. I am feeling good and lighter too. I am determined to make some progress this year. I have been at a stall mate for too long already. Now is the time! See you all on the next thread!

    Goals for the Week

    Workouts 0/5
    Veggies 0/5
    Bed before 12am 0/5
    Water 128 oz daily 0/7
    1. I did great on the water goal
    2. Bed before midnight? This was a real challenge for me .. this will be a goal for the new week actually not 12am but earlier. There were several days I was in bed by 10. It felt great but I did keep waking up though out the night. My body was confused.
    3. Veggies - more focus on this one
    4. Workouts - 5 was far too lofty a goal this week. Being more realistic on my goals, meeting them and feeling good about that rather than beating myself up with higher goals and not meeting them. For right now I think that's a far better way for me. I'll get there!

Looks like you Ladies have been really committing to your goals and working hard! I think adding daily check-ins might help me stay more motivated! I've felt bad if I don't meet a goal and then check in but I think that's where my head has been at recently.

This is a brand new week for new beginnings!
Thank you Ladies for continuing to post it helps to know there's a place to come back to and inspiration is always here! <3

Good job Hearts! No beating yourself up if you don't reach every goal. Something is better than nothing and just being mindful is helping us all be successful and more consistent if not perfect. No such thing as perfect! See eveyone on the next thread!!

Oh Molly!! Thank you SO much for this... I only just now found this message. It means the world to me!

I try and set goals and then at times set them too lofty... I then seem to set myself up for failure, so setting up more realistic goals is smarter. Going over them is much more fun than beating up myself, you're right.

Thanks Sweetie! sending you a warm loving hug across the miles!! <3
