    Morning BBB

Working from home while watching the snow continue to fall. Nothing like the east is going to get, but I figure this is likely the last time working from home due to bad roads I'll get. Its not worth it to me. Traffic reporsts on tv are already showing 4/5 accidents on the highway into the city. I'll stay put thank you very much. Will even clear the drive for SO later this afternoon. He's up and out already.

My new Kona coffee is ohhhh so good. I may start my taxes later, as well.

    Have a great day everyone!

    Vote Lou

Morning gang. Glad the snow is missing us. I hear it is a little slick out

My company declared chapter 11 today and my phone/email is blowing up. Going to be a long day.

My uncle who was in the car accident at new years is having back surgery today so had spouse guests last night. His recovery has been slow but steady.

Oh Steph, sorry to hear you are going through this again with your company. Glad to hear your uncle is progressing even though it may be slow. You seem to be the rock wherever you stand. Praying for you, your family, and your colleagues.

    Good Morning!

Trying to rub the sleep out of my eyes. Had one of those SBUX Cappuccino drinks this morning. They are awesome, but I can't afford one every day. Very sleep this morning.

Taking DW and DS to Joe Bonnamassa this evening. 8:00 show means really late tonight! Ugh! Wife and son don't work, so won't be as rough on them. I get up at 5:00 every morning. The concert, however, will be worth it!

Steph, I am so sorry to hear about your work. Prayers for your work situation, and prayers for successful surgery for your uncle.

I bought some fishing worms yesterday and stuck them in the fridge. That means it is going to HAVE to warm up soon!

    • Eyes are still swollen and red but that was expected.

    Good Morning,
No snow here but cold for Georgia.
    Dennis, glad all went well.
Steph, hope all works out; if not retire to the islands.
They always say to two best days with a boat are the day you purchase and the day you get rid of it. I can't complain, I enjoyed boat as well as kids when we had it. Had gotten where we did not use and moving off lake did not need.
I need to get taxes done but still do not have K-1's; need to know how much I've got to pay so I'll know if we can afford to go to beach in May, Sept is already set.
    Lee, congrats on coming pups.
Finished wall, now need dirt to fill.
    Enjoy the Day,
    Sam I am

    Steph - T&P's!

Snow expected here tonight and into a/m rush. Teleworking so it shouldn't really matter much to us. Got neighbor kids on retainer for shoveling.

Hope you feel better soon, Dennis!

    I'm voting for Lou....

Steph - I hope everything works out for you with work and for your uncle's surgery.

After knocking on doors for 3 consecutive days to the tune of just short of a half marathon a day, I crashed this morning and slept until 8. And, since it's snowing out, I think I'm going to take a day off the campaign trail.

That said - I need a consult with a group of unaffected parties. Mind if I dump my problem here?

The other day, I posted to FB about the incredibly stupid timing and formatting of that township newsletter that just went out. It essentially is an electioneering piece. That said, I believe that the incumbent - a nice lady that genuinely tries to do the right thing - just had a HIA (Head In *kitten*) moment. It will effectively kill my campaign as it ups her voter ID tremendously.

The Republican party up here wants to scream bloody murder and file a criminal complaint over misappropriation of public funds. I have no control over it. My message of Doing More With Less will be as useless as the Pope's balls once this comes out. It won't be the campaign I wanted to run. It will effectively turn a long shot campaign where I was trying to boost general awareness of the charitable mission into a negative campaign.

Like I said, I have no control over what the R's do. My campaign fund is set up to have the food pantry be the beneficiary of the residual. All I can think to do is stop spending money since it's no longer the race I wanted to run. If a reporter calls, I'd say kind of what I did here - that she is a decent person who had a HIA moment and that if she reimbursed the township for the costs, I'd let it go. Make a point of talking up that this race is about ideas, etc.

    Thoughts?

Lou - you're a better man than me..... I'd exploit it. Fiscal responsibility (or lack thereof) is the reason we have a $20T deficit. Politics and nice are generally NOT USED in the same sentence.

LMAO: "useless as the Pope's balls" - thats a first. You may want to omit that from the dialogue with the reporters.... Just saying....

Lou, unfortunately anything you say generally will be turned around distorted and then purported by the news media. I would let the party scream and bellow all they want this will help folks see what your opponent is, let the party spend their money. You need to come across as a genuine sincere business person willing to contribute for the betterment of township.
Rule #1 in campaigns: do not contribute your personal money into campaign; if there is not adequate support and donations to cover then one more than likely does not have the support to win. Need to look at demographics of district and how district generally votes, unfortunately qualifications and honesty does not filter into the voting booth.
If there is a misappropriation of funds without media reporting and investigating generally the public will not see or understand and know that majority of population does not read, this includes well educated folks.
Wishing you Luck, but sounds as you are fighting an uphill battle.
I do know one needs to run several campaigns to get name recognition, this takes more than many are willing to give.

It's not my forte, either, Lou, but I really admire you standing up for what you believe in. Some of my closest friends have a mantra that may or may not help, and that's "stay in the moment, and just do the next right thing". I try to live by that. When I project out, I end up wasting energy worrying about things that may never happen, and I miss the value of this moment. So, I try my best to bring myself back to the here and now, to look around, to exist fully in this, and to then decide what the next right thing to do is. I figure if I keep doing that, things will turn out as well as is possible.

Steph, MAN! I am so sorry! You have been hit too many times lately ... this storm needs to stop!

    Random thoughts:
    * We've had a dusting .... maybe 2 inches or so. Nothing major.
    * We bought Dd16 a car today, and took it to her work (the car wash) to show her. She was pretty excited, to say the least!
    * She still doesn't have her license, so I have to stay up until 11:15 tonight to pick her up. It will be so nice when she gets that and I can go to bed on time every night!
    * I made a pot of delicious beef stew tonight. YUM!
    * Dd25 got a puppy today. She has regular meltdowns about the workload in her house already .... but I'm not saying a THING about it. My lips are zipped.
    * I do not need any more new clothes. Or jewelry.
    * Tomorrow is Dd20's Dbf's birthday. He's at basic right now in San Antonio ... they probably won't give him any cake. Or pie.

    That's all for now.
