Lifting shoes

What does everyone wear to do your lifts in? I've been wearing hi-top Chucks for everything, but lately I've developed a deep blood blister on the tip of one toe from friction, and starting to develop another regular blister on the inside of the same toe. Chucks are narrow and my feet are not, so I'm thinking about switching it up. I squat low bar with a wide, somewhat turned out stance, if that matters. What do other folks use?

With the wider stance that you squat with, I'd stick with a flat sole shoe as opposed to a weightlifting shoe. Nike Metcons are a really good, versatile shoe with a stiff, flat sole. You can find the Metcons 2 (the older version) online everywhere for <$90.00.0

Thank you!0

Yeah, I wear either Chucks or Vans depending on how I feel. I don't have any special shoes. I even do it in socks if I forget my trainers.0

The chucks work for now but they are rubbing my toes pretty bad and when I can afford it, I'll try out those Metcons.0

Van's are a bit wider around the toes?0

I'll check them out, thanks!0

I have reebok nanos (the 3.0 version) and they are fairly flat, with a solid heel, and a very comfortable toebox (from the person who hates shoe shopping because my pinky toe never fits in anything that isn't half to a full size too long). I'm not a huge fan of running in them, but they're amazing for everything else.
I don't know if the later designs still have the same width, but I'm pretty sure you can find a 4.0 or 5.0 for a decent price. And they will LAST! Mine have been through 2 years of 5 days a week or so and are still doing well (I regularly go through a pair of shoes in about 6 months?). Honestly, if it wasn't for the solid heels, these would be my most comfy shoes ever and I would be wearing them day in and out for walking and stuff!0 -
Thanks! I may actually have solved my problem, at least for now....today I lifted in just my (kitten face) socks, and it was great! I may hold off on any new shoes for the moment, since socks felt nice and stable and no rubbing to worry about. But I definitely appreciate the responses, and I'm sure at some point (when my budget is less anemic) I'll want to try these options out.0
