Since yall had such great advice about maternity clothes I wanted to see if you had any tips for things to add to the baby registry. I have the obvious stuff, I'm looking more for random little gems you discovered that you couldn't live without. Thanks for any tips!

ETA: and if you got something you thought would be helpful but wasn't that would be good to know too!

With my first kid, I had a registry. With this one I refused (even though it's 9 years later) because almost everything can be found secondhand or passed on from friends.
The only things I'm buying new are bottles, bedding/decor, and a video monitor. I was even chit chatting with a stranger today and mentioned that I needed a high chair - she offered hers free so we're meeting up soon.

You definitely need less than you think!

I loved my ring sling. It made taking the baby places super easy (and baby wearing helps you get that core strength back too!).

I was going to suggest something to babywear. We didn't really start until my first was about 6 mos and we still wear her. I'm slightly addicted to the Lillebaby carriers...

As for the registry - diapers and wipes. And more diapers and wipes. Our bouncer was a lifesaver too. We got a swing, but didn't really use it - maybe with this one since our daughter is still using her bouncer as a chair...

I agree with @Queenmunchy that you can find most things second hand - except a car seat! But clothes for sure, and most people will buy clothes and blankets anyway. We got our bassinette free from a couple that was moving out of our apartment complex. They didn't want to move it and said they were done having kids and we were welcome to have it - $60 saved!

My mom got us a bottle warmer and a sterilizer. The warmer was very nice - my husband loved it. We used the sterilizer as well - it was great for my breast pump parts!

I, personally, wouldn't go crazy buying bottles - your little one may not like the particular brand you bought and you may need to try a few before you find one that works.

    Love our video monitor!
