Morning all, finally back home after easter, and a lot of bad eating, scale is only showing up a pound, so really chuffed with myself. Have brought my pregnant sister in law home with us for a mini break, so my excercise will not be brill over the next week, but she's determined we are going to eat better!
Hope everyone has an awesome day1 -
Grandma made it through surgery. My grandmother is one of those people who is great with strangers and if your family she rips you apart. I am worried about my mom as she is going to be miserable and start taking it out on us.
As we were waiting I made lots of phone calls and a bunch of cosmetology students came through looking for volunteers. Oh WTH I knew the girl would have no clue who dorthy hamill was so I said I call it the mushroom. She smiled and said I can see it now woman comes in and goes can I have that. The girl goes you want short hair? She goes no the highlights in her hair she busts out laughing and goes she has snow white hair coming in its natural. Woman goes OH I don't want that!
Doing well on staying away from the soda and the retail shopping.
They announced at work they are going to attempt a new program starting June 1 st where the branches are self sufficient. If for some reason something comes up there will be no exceptions all associates will go out to the branches. I am ok with this as of right now I am the only one going. Lol1 -

@skipper111 It is amazing how a good night, makes for a good attitude to get you back on track. That is why they say, even if you are having a few bad days don't give up, just keep coming back.
@catvlmack 1 pound over holiday isn't too bad at all. You've got this. Stay strong.
@2020pinktogo Glad she made it through okay. Sucks that she will take it out on family though. (People tend to do this because they feel safe with family. Most people don't even realize that they do this.) Do you have family and friends that can take turns giving mom some relief? Great job on the soda and shopping! You are my new hero. I don't think I could manage that.

80 ounces Water
25000 steps

I love that idea, it does seem to make things flow a bit smoother! And roller skating, that sounds like such fun. I'd love to do it again, but I'm afraid I'd bust my you know what! LOL

@2020pinktogo Glad to hear grandma made it through OK. Hope she is kind to your mom during her recovery.
@catvlmack Nice job on the holiday weight. That's always a tough one.
@skipper111 I know all to well how a good nights sleep can affect you. Glad you got the rest you needed.
@jdelaroy OMG the holiday candies are FINALLY coming to an end in my house !! THANK GOD for that. I don't know how much more of it I could take...LOL
@RejsGirl Nice job on the loss. Its always a good feeling to get up and see the numbers go down after a day of not so great choices..LOL
My day was a pretty good one even though i didn't get out to run. I kept all my goals in check and TOM is finally done, now to drop the water weight which has already begun.1) Keep within my calorie goal 5/7 D/W
DONE 3/7

3) Run 3+ days per week
We have a rain delay
4) Reach my step goal of 14k EVERY DAY !
So far so good. Going to shoot for a 20k day, as long as i get to run that should be easy.

after Jillian's 30 days are done (5/24/17)
Continue the Aftershock workout and add the 9 ABS workout.1 -
Good morning, Happy Thursday!! We are almost done for the week!!! Yesterday I did manage to achieve what I planned but it was hard. @carlsoda, wow excellent job getting your steps in! I've done that before, if I need more steps. I find the Jane Fonda's walking in YouTube so make it less burning.

@GrandmaJackie sorry the scale isn't cooperating nicely for you but it will come around don't worry. Good going on the yoga and have fun swinging those kettlebells.
I did good yesterday, all goals achieved. Mood wise, it wasn't the best day... Shark week is near and I'm extra sensitive.
Goals for today are the usual ones: eat within calories, train, chin-ups, steps, water and good sleep.
Let's have a fabulous Thursday!!!!1 -
DAY 4:
Happy Thursday everyone. I woke up in a good mood and ready to face this new day and then I got a call. My surgeon had to bump my surgery day from May 9th to June 13th. I was so upset! I was in tears on the phone with a friend who has been helping me through these last months. I have literally made myself sick from the worry and stress of having this surgery. I was only a couple of weeks away I was finally starting to control my emotions about it and now I have to wait another 8 weeks. Another 2 whole months. I can't flippin believe it. I have had a sick feeling in my stomach all day now and just cant stop thinking about it. Huge headache now. I just want this to be over with.
MY GOALS:
- COMPLETE 5 WALKS THIS WEEK (INDOOR OR OUTDOOR)
2/5 WALKS COMPLETED
- DRINK ATLEAST 3 LITERS OF WATER 7/7 DAYS
2/7 DAYS COMPLETED
- NO CARBS FOR DINNER 5/7 DAYS
2/5 DAYS COMPLETED
- EAT VEGGIES AT EVERY MEAL 5/7 DAYS

@mari_moulin Oh my! Hang in there. I know that it sucks that the surgery was postponed, but try and look at the positive side of things. You are doing great sticking to your goals, making new healthy habits. In two months time you are going to be even healthier than you are now. This will allow you to have an easier time with the surgery. Your body will be more prepared to recover, your habits will be better cemented into your life. Plus you get to participate more with us. I know it is scary to sit and wait, but try to think of it as a good thing instead. ((((Hugs)))) Glad you had a friend to help talk you through the worst of it.3
-
@mari_moulin I can completely understand your stress. But I have to agree with @jdelaroy, try to focus on making yourself stronger both body and soul. This too shall pass, hang in there.
I managed to get this in under the gun!

Thank you so much for your kind words. Everyone had been so supportive in my groups here and on my newsfeed. I am so blessed to have such an amazing support system here on MFP. Thank you so much ladies.

@mari_moulin I'm so sorry to hear that. I hate it when I have to change my plans as well, I'm a little ocd about it, so I know it must be hard for you to wait longer for something you want so badly. I strongly believe all things happen for a reason and while you probably cannot see anything good in it now, I'm positive it must be for the best. As @jdelaroy said, try to use this time to get healthier and form new habits that will help you recover sooner. Hang in there!
Had another lifting session with my personal trainer today. I was the only woman, the place was crowded with loud men lifting a million pounds, joking around. I just tried to do my work as soon as I could and get out of that testosterone pit. Morning sessions are usually a lot quieter so I'll try to only book mornings from now on.
My goals:
1. Cut down on sweets
2. Up my water intake to at least 2 liters a day
3. Exercise at least 5 times a week
4. Lift/strength train
5. Work on doing 5 military push-ups in a row
6. Work on doing at least one pull-up
7. Eat healthy home cooked meals
8. Start and finish Yoga Camp
9. Get back on my MTB
10. Lose 4.5 kg (10 lbs)
Achieved on day 4: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.1 -
@mari_moulin, sorry for the upset! Like others have said, think of how much healthier you can be by then! Try to recall the emotional control that you were gaining and get that back--the date might have changed, but the reality of the surgery is the same and is not worth the angst.
@2020pinktogo, glad your grandmother is recovering from the surgery but sorry to hear that you're anticipating a rough go of it for the family.
@mari_moulin, @2020pinktogo, I took a workshop on Transformational Consciousness a couple years ago, and the message that stuck with me is that the only thing we can control in just about any situation is our own reaction. There will always be other factors that we can't change or influence, but--barring chemical imbalances and other mental health issues--we are pretty much always in control of our own reaction. It is way easier said than done sometimes, but just because something we perceive as negative is happening or just because someone else is reacting negatively, it doesn't mean that we need to react in a negative way, though we so often do. I'm a lot more peaceful and happy when I remember that!
@lalajka, I know it shouldn't really matter, but I confess I'm a lot more comfortable with the barbell when it's not very busy and the free weight section is not full of muscle-y guys. I guess the benefit is that any of them could help me out if I ended up lifting more than I could manage, but they sometimes make me feel more self-conscious than I want to be. I get it done anyway and try not to bother about what they're thinking. (Truth is, they probably scarcely notice me, or only when they wish I wasn't blocking one of their sets, lol.)
A NSV for me today: I was in the mall at lunch today getting my next bus pass and I noticed the gelato place had a new salted peanut gelato. I figured I could swing it in my calories if I changed dinner and snacks around a little but asked for a taste first and then decided that it actually wasn't worth it. That little taste was enough for me to feel like I'd tried it out, and it wasn't actually as good as I wanted it to be to make it worth having a whole little cup. There is definitely a time when I would have ordered it without thought simply because it was peanut ice cream, and I love peanuts.
Glad goals are going so well for everyone overall so far!2 -
@fitpheonix Great NSV, resisting the peanut ice cream.
@mari_moulin Try not to stress, and use the time to make sure you are a little fitter when the time comes.
@2020pinktogo Glad that your grandma came through the surgery.
@lalajka Those jocks are hard to take at times. It's one of the reasons I work out at home.
It was my birthday today, so I was a little indulgent. Also, my knees were painful. I have a problem with the minor meniscus on my left knee, and I had a fall a few weeks ago which has made it flare up again. I'm hoping a good night's sleep will help.2 -
