Posted this in the wrong thread this morning! DOH!!!

@MonicaA2013 Wow! You said it all Monica. I endorse every word! This is such a supportive group and great motivation. Well done on the goals. The Shred and Aftershock are a bit too hardcore for me, but good on ya for effort.
@GrandmaJackie I'm working on the cleaning myself this week. Well done on the goals. And I love the variety of yoga links you have been posting on the newsfeed. I have tried a few of them and added some to my YouTube lists.
@Skipper111 A supportive and motivational group like this can do wonders for your morale. The positive energy is a real buzz. Great job on yesterday's goals. Good luck on the interview.

Monday Painters Group went well. The members painted some wonderful landscapes.
Library Poetry Group was lively. The variety of poems submitted on a theme never ceases to amaze me.

Today is a glorious but crisp April morning, with lots of promise. This morning I am going to my Craft Group, then after lunch I am getting my hair cut and blow dried for my Amsterdam trip on Friday. 5 days as a Culture Vulture with my Art History pals. This is life after work! And it's good!

My new scale arrived yesterday, (1byOne Digital Body Analysis Scale from Amazon) but I hadn't bought the batteries as I wasn't expecting it until today. I'm excited to see how it works this afternoon.

 Have a great day!

Morning everyone! I read everyone's posts but feel so negligent as I have no idea how you all remember the names to tag on the next day.
Just to clarify though, I have no kids, I coach gymnastics to strangers kids! I hope I'm still a good example to them though!
@skipper111 good luck with your interview! Don't give yourself a hard time, I'm sure you'll do better than you think, what's the job?
@TerriRichardson112 you have some very interesting passtimes, I wish I was more creative. Wow good week ahead too, I love Amsterdam, I went to the sex museum once, it was interesting lol!

Today we are dragging more poor pregnant sister in law around Chester, it's a beautiful city. Poor girl will sleep for a week when we finally take her home, but she can't say she's been bored!
Have a fab day everyone, I love reading about your lives and you overcoming challenges, it gives me hope with my own battles. X

    DAY 9:

Good Morning! I hope you are all having a wonderful day so far. I am a bit upset today because I had my gym time worked into my day and a friend called and asked me to take care of her kids while she goes into town to order some stuff for her wedding. This bothers me because all my friends how important my gym time is to me and how important it is for me to lose weight before surgery. They all know my schedule and when I am unavailable but they still call me and ask for favors when they know I am not available. I actually have my baby in daycare half days just so I can be able to go to the gym. So my kids are off in school and daycare but I have to watch someone else's and miss my gym. Maybe I'm being mean. I don't know but I do know it has made me a quite angry. I hate saying no and I did mention again that I had planned on going to the gym and she still said oh I'm sorry to make you miss it but thanks for the favor... :s

    anyways.

@catvlmack - Take it easy on the sis! I'm glad you guys are enjoying spending time together.

@TerriRichardson112 - It sounds like you have an amazing day planned ahead. I am also excited about your new scale. I cant wait to know how it works. I'm curious on how the 2 scales compare.

@Skipper111 - Good luck on your interview! No stress.

    MY GOALS:

    - COMPLETE 4 GYM SESSIONS THIS WEEK
    1/4 GYM SESSIONS COMPLETED
    - DRINK ATLEAST 3 LITERS OF WATER 7/7 DAYS
    1/7 DAYS COMPLETED
    - NO CARBS FOR DINNER 5/7 DAYS
    0/5 DAYS COMPLETED
    - EAT VEGGIES AT EVERY MEAL 5/7 DAYS
    1/7 DAYS COMPLETED
    - LOG EVERYTHING IN MY DIARY 7/7 DAYS (THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY)
    1/7 DAYS COMPLETED

@mari_moulin I know this is going to sound mean but you just say next time sorry I made an apt. I am available to help at this time if it works. They are not thinking about you they are thinking about themselves and what works for them. Especially since you pay for child care that time is off limits you have every right to be angry I am angry and its not me. ;) Just put it out there sorry I can help after 1 not before that. If they confront you on it say I pay for child care for a reason child care is this much $ a day do you want to pay for my child care? By the way will this friend step up and help out after your surgery just out of the goodness of her heart or would you have to beg a favor? Just putting that out there. My Dr. says put yourself first no one else will. It is so true. Keep your gym time. <3<3

My work station got changed yesterday so instead of sitting all day I had to stand. Guess who wore high heels.LOL I came home and I ordered dressy flats never again. I considered it a necessity as the veins in my feet and legs looked like they were going to explode. I am doing better with my spending I am back to the what is a want and what is a need.

@skipper111 Good luck on your interview! You will do fantastic. You are doing much to make sure you have a better life, this is just one step in that direction.

@terririchardson111 You are always doing such fun things. I hope my retirement is like that.

@catvlmack Coaches are some of the biggest inspiration in a child’s life. My two kids absolutely love their coaches, and avidly listen to them. I bet you are a great role model. PS. I make notes in word as I read, then copy and paste when I am done.

@mari_moulin This is a little tough love, but it is with the best of intentions. Your friends will treat you the way you teach them to treat you. Unless you make your gym time a priority, they will not see it as such. Say NO! You have the right to say no. This is your health, your health is more important than a friend’s wedding stuff. Next time someone asks simply tell them you already have plans. If you want you can offer to do it at another time.

@2020pinktogo Flats are a must! I couldn’t stand all day in heals. The scale can be scary. I step on mine every day. I also give it the bird on a regular basis. Every time it goes up it gets the bird, or I call it a liar. I know it is normal to fluctuate, and it is more of a joke. But it makes me feel better to give it the bird. My way of saying it will not rule my life.

Yesterday I killed it. It was a great day. I am proud of myself. After moping the weekend away, I got right back into the groove. Oh and I did glute bridges yesterday, and now my tummy is pleasantly sore.

    Yesterday’s Goals:
Under Calories (being in the green.) :)
    80 ounces of water :)
*20,000 steps. (this is a stretch goal, I will be happy with 15K.) B):D 20k Baby!
    Lunch walk :)
    After school walk :)
    Cheerleader kicks (challenge) :)
Hogwarts poses (challenge.) Half done :)
*Gym Time Nope, walked at home instead.
    Get work stuff done. :)

    Today’s Goals:
Under Calories (being in the green.)
    80 ounces of water
*20,000 steps. (this is a stretch goal, I will be happy with 15K.)
    Lunch walk
    After school walk
    Bronco Challenge
    Hogwarts poses (challenge.)
    laundry
    Get work stuff done.

    Good morning!!

@2020pinktogo - sorry you had to stand all day!! You should have taken off your shoes, I am often barefoot in my office  luckily no one can see!! I have one of those convertible standing desks so I switch it up throughout the day. But ultimately it is much easier to work sitting down when you have papers surrounding you.

@mari_moulin - I agree with what 2020pintotogo said. You need to take care of yourself first. It's very hard to say no to friends, but you have to do it. Even if you did a quick workout for 30 minutes, I'm sure she could have waited until you were done. Something to work on my friend!

    Update on this week:

    Logging! 1/5
    Water, water, water 1/5
    10,000 + steps per day 1/5
Yoga (at least 6 times this week) 1/5
Net carbs 40 or under 0/5 (ate low carb but went over with my paleo supper of sweet potatoes and squash) :)

    Good Morning!

@mari_moulin: It is great that you are a good friend, but next time just say no. You need to work on you first! like 2020pinktogo, I felt angry reading it too! I hate it when people don't have respect for other people. I think it is very inconsiderate for someone to ask you to babysit when your child is in daycare. Even if you just wanted to sit on the couch doing nothing during that time, it is YOUR time & you are worth it!

I met most of my goals last week. The big whoosh continued & I rounded out the week losing 6lbs. I have given some back because I am exercising this week & I have started taking creatine. Who knows what the weigh in tomorrow will bring. I have decided that I cannot let the slow movement of the scale, while exercising, determine whether I exercise or not. I have to lose my attachment to the scale & exercise, even if my muscles will retain water. I do not want to be skinny fat. I want muscles & to look healthy. I know the scale will show progress eventually & meanwhile I will enjoy wearing my smaller clothes & swimming in the big ones, even if I don't like the number on the scale. I strongly considered not exercising until I reached a goal weight. Seems silly right? Does anyone else notice a huge difference in scale weight while not exercising?

    Goals for the week:
    -run 20 km (4/20)
    -hit calorie goal daily (1/7)
    -no alcohol (1/6)
-hit protein & carb macros daily (1/6)
    -work at least 28hrs (2/28)
    -do 15 minutes of house/yard work (1/7)

Yeassss someone at the gym said I looked great and asked me if I've been losing weight! And I saw my mother in law yesterday and I haven't seen her in months and she was surprised at how small I had gotten since the last time I've seen her. She too asked how much weight I've lost! It's days like these that keep my spirits up and keep motivated! Have a great day everyone!

    Good morning everyone!!! :)

@Skipper111 Good luck with your interview! You've got this!! You are prepared and ready, so you'll do great!
@TerriRichardson112 I love how involved you are and how much fun you're having!
@catvlmack You're still a great example even if they're not your kiddos! Keep it up!
@mari_moulin I agree with the others! You need to take care of you! Especially when you have your mind set on working out and you actually take your own child to daycare so that you can work out! I just wouldn't answer the phone if you can't say no, until I have my workout done and whatever else I need to get done for me first! You deserve it!
@2020pinktogo There is no way I could wear heels! Hope you found some comfy, cute flats! Way to go with your spending too!
@jdelaroy Way to smash your goals!!! You are always so positive. Makes me want to do better!
@carlsoda Awesome job with your goals yesterday. Eating low carbs is very difficult for me! A work in progress!
@lpeltenburg That is a fabulous weight loss!! I can't help you with input on scale weight between exercising & not exercising since I'm still trying to figure out how to make the scale move (& myself move)!! LOL I would say feeling better in your clothes even though the scale doesn't reflect what you want it to when you exercise in a win!

I had an awesome day with my goals yesterday! I logged everything and was under my calories for the day. I drank 8+ glasses of water, planned my meals for the week & walked in the evening! I really didn't feel like it, but hubby went to play frisbee golf with a friend, and my kiddo had FCA, so I thought I should really get out instead of watch tv! I'm glad I did! :)

    Today's goals
Log everything that goes into my mouth
drink 9 glasses of water (already 3 down)
walk 2 times (already did one short walk this morning)
Stay under calories for the day
sign kiddo up for church camp this summer & ACT

    Make today count!! B)

    Good morning flowers!!!

@mari_moulin you have to take care of yourself and your priorities first. Hope you learned a valuable lesson.

@Ipeltenburg if my diet is good and I don't train for a few days then yes, my weight will go down but it's only water. As far as creatine, whenever I start taking it, I get anywhere from 2-5 lb extra within days and that's with a regular dose, no loading faze. Creatine is extremely useful and a fantastic supplement but some people are non responders and the only way to know it's working is if you gain weight. It basically pulls extra water in the muscle while allowing for bigger storage of ATP within the cell. That phenomenon is what contributes to increased power output and going harder for longer. It's also associated with better brain function. Big congratulations on telling the scale who's boss :)

Well yesterday I went to bed completely satisfied. I had low energy most of the day but I accomplished everything I wanted.

Today's looking more promising energy wise. The goal is to stay within calories/macros, do my training, chin-ups, steps, water and some good restorative sleep.

    Let's have a fabulous Tuesday!!!

It's almost 2 p.m. and I have absolutely NO idea where the day went! I haven't done a thing but make some phone calls.

@mari_moulin really no reason for me to but just for the sake of saying so, I'm with everyone else here. Put yourself first in this instance. Don't let anyone take advantage of your kindness and generosity. Later on, you'll regret it much more than you do now.

@kimmysue100 you go girl! Very proud of you!! Keep it up!

@danelutza19 congrats on yesterday's accomplishments! It can be rough when you're not feeling very energized.

I didn't do too well with my goals yesterday, but ole #9, I smashed!

    Yesterday's goals were to:

    1. Log (write) my food and eat accordingly - done
    2. Drink 6-8 glasses of water - done
    3. Take my vitamins (done)
    4. Get in 30 minutes of exercise and 10,000-12,000 steps - I did not exercise, but I did manage to get in over 10,000 steps
    5. Journal
    6. Read at least 1 chapter
    7. Work on our vacation info - done
    8. Home Depot - done
    9. Eat a decent, balanced, planned dinner and then STOP EATING! - AND DONE! This was the biggie and I made it happen. Ate a chicken patty and a salad and that was good enough for me!

It's gorgeous outside today so I decided to take our puppy on a walk. I went to find my new (not cheap) wireless earbuds so I could have some tunes on my walk, only to discover - my cat - who has an odd fascination with earbuds - has eaten them. Chewed the earpiece completely in half. Needless to say, I am NOT a happy camper. And of course, I didn't buy the warranty because I mean, who's cat eats earbuds?!?! Oh, right - mine! Grrrrr

    Day 9 Goals:

    1. Write my food log & eat accordingly.
    2. Drink 6-8 glasses of water (on my 6th now)
    3. Take my vitamins (done)
    4. Get in 30 minutes of exercise & 10,000-12,000 steps. I'm going to try to get this done although I REALLY don't much feel like moving
    5. Weed at least one flower bed after dinner
    6. Journal
    7. Read one chapter
    8. HOLD STRONG tonight after tonights dinner of pork chops, roasted carrots & mashed potatoes!

    Hope everyone's Tuesday is productive!

@danelutza19 : thanks for the info on creatine. The scale went up today, so I assume I am a responder. I figure I would be, I gain weight sooo easily! I am not loading, I am just measuring 3g & will keep at it daily. I just have to keep it in my head that it is water. Good to know as well that I am not the only one that retains water when I exercise. I just have to keep telling myself it is just water..

@catvlmack haha I actually laughed out loud at your comment yestreday! I guess when your boyfriend is a winemaker, the weekends can get pretty interesting :). Is that Chester, UK?
@mari_moulin I know how hard it is to say no to friends, it's something I have to work on as well. We need to put ourselves first and be a little selfish sometimes. And it was not nice of her to insist when she knew you had plans.
@Skipper111 How was the interview? I'm sure you did great. I just found out my project proposal was selected and is getting funding so that means I have a job for at least 3 years in research. And with a great pay haha! Fingers crossed you get it too!
@kimmysue100 well done on all your goals, especially getting out of the house! Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to do. I know, I need all the motivation in the world to get up and start moving...
@ariel1116 wow those are two amazing nsv's! Congrats, it must feel wonderful that people are noticing all your hard work. Enjoy it!

Well, I had great intentions yesterday, but that was before TOM came knocking... then I just ate stuff. Dreading tomorrow's weigh in now.

Today, I went to my morning strength training session but after that I spent the day sitting behind the computer, finishing up a paper for a conference. I did eat healthy, but didn't get enough water in. Tomorrow I'll do better.

    My goals:

    1. Cut down on sweets
    2. Up my water intake to at least 2 liters a day
    3. Exercise at least 5 times a week
    4. Lift/strength train
    5. Work on doing 5 military push-ups in a row
    6. Work on doing at least one pull-up
    7. Eat healthy home cooked meals
    8. Start and finish Yoga Camp
    9. Get back on my MTB
    10. Lose 4.5 kg (10 lbs)

    Achieved on day 9: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

Good afternoon everyone! Looks like everyone is smashing their goals.
Not me this milestone but my focus is elsewhere this next couple of weeks and I have given myself permission to do so and not beat myself up.

Hopefully I won't be way over where I was when started. And if I am I will give the scale the finger too @ lpeltenburg Lol

Have a wonderful day everyone and keep rocking those goals

    Day 1 DONE

The scale went up a touch with the water weight of muscle repair going on. DOMS are not as bad as i had expected.
Today has gone well, i actually DID my workout today, worked right through the doms. SO I am HOPING that i have worked the water though so the scale will drop for me tomorrow. Well I gotta get off here. Sorry i dont have time to make individual comments ATM. I will try to check back in later.

@monicaA2013, glad your week has started off well, even if the scale is up a bit. As you said, it's likely water weight, and even if it doesn't make it off for tomorrow, it'll be sure to come off in the upcoming days! Hope the DOMs stays minimal/disappears completely soon. :)

@mari_moulin, it's kind of your to help out your friend, but I think it's adding a lot of negative energy to your life that you don't need in an instance like this. Putting aside your own plans and helping out in an emergency is one thing, but being taken advantage of for day to day stuff is something else. It's hard to say no to friends, but like everyone else has said, standing your ground for something like this is important for you, your health, and your relationship with your friends.

I've been having super busy days at work (complete with answering emails during my bus commute to try to stay on top of everything), so although I read this whole thread, I'm not going to respond to everyone--it's my bedtime, lol. Have a great night, everyone!
