One of my young law partners recommended that I buy one of the Original Stick massagers. I bought one, but I was pretty skeptical of it. Yesterday, I watched a DVD instructional and then went to work on my extremely tight sore calf muscles; anterior tibialis and hamstrings. All of those areas were reacting to my newly found excitement about jump rope. The result was a big WOW!! I used the 'Travel size' roller on my legs and then decided to roll my neck muscles. I went from being tight and sore to being very relaxed.
I like to experiment with new ideas, and I only keep what works for me. This really works for me!

@RangerRickL If it works for you use it. Massage, even self massage, is a great tool. Jump rope is also a great exercise (I haven't done it in too long. Should probably find my weighted rope and use this exercise to break up my walks).
Unfortunately for me, "thestick.ca" site is flagged by my chrome browser as containing malware. Hopefully there is another reference site I can use to find out more about this product.
Have enjoyed the posts from your trip too. Nice to see summer as us in the Southern Hemisphere head into winter.3 -
Exercise? Wet day today as predicted so no cycling. Instead I managed 20 minutes on the rowing machine this morning, a short run after work and 20 minutes of cardio/strength circuit this evening. I have also completed week 2 of my squat challenge.
Calories and tracking both okay although I found calories a bit of a challenge today as I had a hungry day and no cycling so less exercise calories hence fitting in the short run after work.
@pribud sorry to hear about all your challenges with your legs. It seems that quite often the biggest medical challenge is getting the correct diagnosis.

@RangerRickL...so glad the stick help with the muscle knots! I used one (ordered from Amazon) when I had knots in my quads.
@pribud...I can feel your relief on the horizon!3 -

Good evening everyone thanks for all your supportive comments, they are really appreciated. It seems it will be an even more trying time than I anticipated as my husband got his call today and he is having surgery June 8th. Not sure if I mentioned he was also waiting for a date, he has a stomach hernia that has become much larger this year and is bothering him, we were thinking it would not be until later this summer or early fall but no, it is just one week before mine! Not sure how we are going to work this out but I don't feel either of us can put it off nor do I want us too. We will figure out something once I get my head around it..lol UNBELIEVEABLE!

@phoebelayla I have my foam roller too! I use it primarily for my IT band problem. I roll both legs but the IT band problem in only on the left leg. I have had flat feet since birth, so I am not built to be the runner.2
