Announcement: Themed Cycling Challenges.

Further to Jason's announcement that he's focusing his development time and efforts into the core of CycLeagues - i.e. the Leagues, this means that from the end of the Current Grand Tour - The Giro d'Italia, the data feeds for the team events and classics challenge will become unavailable.
Sadly, due to the time it would take to enter all the data manually for 4 or more teams every day, this basically means that the remaining Grand Tour Challenges scheduled for this year have had to be cancelled. Manual entry of the data used to take upwards of 2 hours or more every day with 3 teams riding. When I started back into full employment at the end of last year, it was clear to me that running the challenges would be difficult even WITH a full data feed - without, its simply impossible.
So, the Giro 2017 will be my last Team based Challenge - those of you who know me will realise that it's always been my favourite tour, so it's quite fitting that I end on what is for me a high note.
If anyone is interested in operating the Grand Tours going forward, please contact me via PM to discuss it - but be aware that manual entries WILL consume any free time you have, and probably eat into your own riding time to an inordinate degree. If you still want to try, then of course any of my files are at your disposal...
The remaining 4 events on the Classics Challenge are still for the moment going ahead - worst case scenario, I'll not ride myself and spend the time entering everyone elses data. Again, at the end of the current challenge, unless someone else runs the challenge, this will be the end of the road for these themed challenges.
I'd just like to add that I wish Jason all the best with his efforts to push CycLeagues forwards, and understand and support wholeheartedly his decision to focus on the core activities. In the end he's got a massive investment in time and money behind this development, and he needs to see it come to fruition.
It's been great riding with you all, lets make the final week of the Giro into a great "wrap party" for the Team Challenges, and I'm sure I'll see you all somewhere on down the road. I'm certainly not leaving MFP anytime soon - still got far too much lard to get rid of to be walking away from here just yet.
