Gooooooooooooooooooooooooood morning, BBB!
Busy day on the horizon for me - lots of meetings. We're hoping to try again to get up to TC to visit my sister this weekend and deliver the shadow box portion of her Mothers' Day gift. Other than that, it should be a quiet weekend. Our houseguest left yesterday morning, so things are back to normal here. I need a weekend hobby! This past Sunday was the last of our evening services until after Labor Day, too.0 -
Morning!
This weekend, Lisa - try watching Indy 500....if that doesn't suit your fancy, the Coca Cola 600 is on right afterwards.....
I wanna hear more about the Pool Party this weekend in Indiana....I ordered me a new leopard print speedo last night and will wear some fresh baggies to make the feet look pristine
Federal appreciation day at Nat's Park today....looks like its gonna be a rain out....ugh....
Retire at 45? Good for you, Steph! I must be living the wrong way! I'll be double that before I can retire.....
Steve - any update on your mom???
Raine - how's the FLA Conf? Did you make it to Station Five?
Cheers, Kids!0 -
Good Morning BBB.
Lots of rain and storms throughout this part of FL. No time to lounge outside.
Heading to House 5 this afternoon after our presentation. I talked to the LT yesterday and he will not be there today but the Gus that responded to the Pulse nightclub shooting will be on shift. LT said they were just talking about us the other day and looking at pictures. Love those guys.
Pool party - count Jack and me in!
This is the first year in 14 years that we have not organized and run the Memorial Day Parade in our town. It will feel strange.
Steph - my Escape has the blind spot notification system. I would not have the Escape without that feature.
Bill - Tom proclaimed that he is watching the racing and chilling out this weekend.
Lisa - your sister is going to be blown away. I wish we could all be there when you give her your song and shadow box - we await pictures.
Do good out there everyone.0 -
Tell Tom to come on over..... Funny, two guys can sit and watch cars go round and round a track for 3 straight hours, nary saying two words to each other, and pronounce at the end of the day: ".....I had a great time."1
-
Mornin' BBB.
Adjusting the side side view mirrors properly will illuminate your blind spots while driving.
Light rain this morning. T-storms tonight. A little xanax for Tess this evening.
Buying plants for veggie garden today.
Raine, you and Jack will rock the presentation.
I would pay to see the leopard speedo exhibition, LOL.
I wonder if Etta would like to do an agility class on the weekends?

Good Morning,
Reality check, no way to be able to get everything done where I can retire by first week in July; possible to be ready by year end. Have some medical and dental items I want done before retirement and have some time that needs to be used up so that its not loss.
Steve, hope mom is doing better.
Raine, enjoy conference and if back in time you can enjoy Parade this year instead of working so hard.
Lisa, I'm sure we can come up with some hobbies for you; they may not be kosher but they could be fun.
I would not let perceived blind spot stop me from getting what I wanted in a vehicle, in DMIL's Equinox I had a hard time getting use to thick post coming up by windshield where airbags were, use to it now it does not bother me. I still believe for lots of travel a car is more comfortable but enjoy higher ride and versatility in SUV.
Rain continues this morning but should be beautiful this weekend and not too hot.
Mary, hope SO is able to finish sowing grass. Down here we tend to take 9-10 month growing season for granite.
Don't plan entire Memorial Day weekend working around house take time to be thankful for those that gave their all for us and be sure and relax and spend time with family and/or friends to kickoff summer.
Enjoy the Day,
Sam I am0 -
Good morning
I missed yesterday somehow but got caught up.
Pool is open and is cloudy rrrr. Working on it though. It's cold too and it's raining. Too much rain here as well.
Steph. I guess I will agree with the men on the blindspot issue. My car is just like sam described. I had to get used to it as well. I guess bigger is better, right? Right?
Hope your mom is doing better steve.
Waste of time in Indy for my knee. You ask why? Because after all I did in Florida to ensure my records were sent there they weren't. Yes, I called.
Oh well. The rest in Florida did it much good.
Have a great day bbb0 -
Oh nosey parents. My mom went thru my bill pill once and said,"I can't believe you're giving this much to the church!"0

Pool Party? Crickets.......0

Good morning BBB Friends.
- Air Force Jazz Ensemble concert last night was fantastic. Makes me proud to be a Flyboy.
- Would pay to NOT see the leopard speedo exhibition.
- Raine, we are having Dog Days in the 'hood on Saturday. On the agenda is a Central Georgia K-9 Search & Rescue demonstration. I'll be thinking of you and Jack.
- Reminds me Lee, Emma is backing to her ornery self. Thank God some of you go to school forever to learn how to be critter fixers.
- Sam, you sound like me. You have your medical checklist you need to accomplish before you can retire. Did I tell you I have new eyes?
- I better get back to work.

Morning gang
Met one of my former coworkers that isn't on the transition team for a beer last night. Goodbto see her. She is still job less.
Tonight I must pack. We are going to Minnesota for a bike /camping weekend. Planning to do it self contained for the first time. Need to stop at REI in des moines on the way to get another tiny air mattress and sleeping bag. Weather looks ok so far.0 -
Good Morning!
No real update on mom. Her heart valves are failing, so she fills up with fluid, and can't breathe. Docs want her stronger before fixing, but they may run out of options, if she does not get any stronger.
Connie and I are going to the symphony tonight! I'm very excited. Connie often seems to forget that I spent 3 years as business manager for the performing arts at KU. I really gained an appreciation for both the performing arts and for the fine arts. She seems bored by the whole thing. She does, however, play the piano and pipe organ, and both are part of tonight's performance. Friends gave us tickets. Performance will be at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in KCMO. We have never been there.
Steph, awesome if you can retire at 45! I just turned 57, so clearly, I'll miss that mark. I'm thinking 67-70, depending on health, and annual bonuses.
Have a great day!

Seems about right to me.
Picked up Cecilia and she's getting cleaned up now. She'll probably nap for a few hours.0 -
•Wow bike camping sounds great Steph. I did bike camping in Canada up to Jasper and around. Great fun.
•Have fun w Connie at the symphony Steve.
•Have fun with plants Lee it's time to get it on. My pole peas are over 7 feet and both the pole peas and short snap peas are producing. Had our first picking on Tuesday and will eat more tonight. Going to plant some purple bush beans today in large containers on our deck. Planted last tomato yesterday (Brandywine).
•Raine so proud of your work with search and rescue. Amazing to me how that works.
•Dennis good to hear your eyes are doing well. You flyboys are great. Got to have a "private" choral presentation by some of the Air Force Academy boys at our church one time.
•Kelly that just suuxxx not having your records in Indy. Where oh where are competent folks these days??0 -
Morning BBB
The sun showed up early evening last night and its showing again today. Finally, some dry up time ! May have a window to plant grass seed tonight, and also get the deck done on Sat!
I will be putting out our flags and remembering what Memorial Day is really about. Thanking those that gave their lives for this country. Monday, we will take a drive to the cemetery too. They place hundreds of flags out and have a service, as many cemeteries do... Our kids (his & my ds2) are coming over Sunday for a cookout of some sort. Sure... after all the work on the yard is done LOL.
Dennis, you have new eyes, now how about the hearing? VA make any progress on those aids for ya yet?
Enjoy the show tonight Steve! Good we do things together, even though we might not really love it.... i.e. Im really not into Pro Motocross racing, but I tag along on road trips with SO - because he is, and we make a nice little trip out of it! Though he and his kids are going to Michigan for a race July 1, and Im staying back. I have a friends party to attend that I don't want to miss.
I got my dinner plate Dahlia's started in pots last night. I will move them into the gardens once they pop up in the pots about 5-6 inches. Just running out of room. I should have made that new perennial garden last week, way BIGGER ! ha.
Raine/Jack have a great day in FL
Lou, time to dine with your pants back on, no? Welcome home to your wife!
Have a great trip, Steph!
Kelly, sorry someone didn't do their job and messed the appt. up for you. How does your knee feel these days since the shot?
Lisa, take up gardening, you might enjoy the peace and tranquility, and end results are so appeazing. Oh and weeding is just a gas (not). Enjoy the visit with your sister!
Lee, when is fishing season?! Enjoy your plant shopping and planting.
Sam, our growing season is about 8 weeks, so still seems. Ok maybe a lil longer, but not by much.
Retire? What is that ?

DMIL informed DW that today is National Wine day and that she needed to go get stocked up incase they are running a sale.0

Every day around here is whine day. Makes me want some wine.0

I got turned on to growing Dahlias back in the early 1990's when I moved in with my husband(at the time), 92 yo grandfather. We took care of him for 3 yrs until he passed at age 95, so he could live out his life in his own home. He was an avid gardener and known in the area for his dahlias, he taught me how to plant his gardens, this is where my interest really peaked as a young adult. My mom also gardened, so her and I had that in common over the years. I have bits of my peoples gardens at new house. Butter cups and hostas originally from my Nana's garden, bee balm and mum from my Mom's garden, and Im doing Dahlias in memory of my sons Greatgrandpa accordingly. I recently added a delphinium to my garden in memory of my Mom, she had some in her garden....0
