Hi everyone! My name is Cheri I'm from Independence, MO. I’m 50 years old, 5 children (2 borrowed and won’t return), 6 grandchildren (1 whom I will never see ), 2 dogs; Zeke & Cecil. I work F/T, sitting all day. I am just becoming involved at church, with is a serious passion to serve. I became a Christian as an adult, wandered away and have returned because my life is just not complete without Him.
I was about to say I ‘suffer’ from depression, but that wouldn’t be accurate, I have inherited depression and choose to make choices to control my depression. There! that’s more accurate. I have an auto-immune disease which 2 rheumatologists cannot agree on a complete diagnosis; UCTD (undifferentiated connective tissue disease)/rheumatoid arthritis), I call it a muscle disease. This means that walking is the best I can do for exercise and I can’t do it all of the time. But I am a master stretcher which helps tremendously!! I can manage my pain most of the time and turn to God regularly. He has and is so good to me I don’t dare complain, although some days or tasks can be awful tiring.
I am motivated to become the best I can be. I quit smoking Aug. 2012, removed myself off of a dozen medications, and am now learning about food and using MFP to track my calories just enough to motivate me and make good choices. Since my husband and I began living a healthier lifestyle we’ve tried Quinoa, Eggplant and made new dishes with fewer calories and just as filling and most of the times more satisfying! We’ve begun to walk and it’s been fun getting to know different trails in our city!
My goal in joining this group is to make friends, to be an encourager and to be encouraged! To be on this health journey with believers is awesome opportunity! I look forward to getting to know you all!
Jeremiah 29:11-14
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity.[a] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.” New International Version (NIV
