Today I have the right to say no when I need to say no, such as skipping that exercise class last night because I was beat.
I am thankful for the freedom to spend my day the way I'd like, even if that means taking a nap later on and listening to people whine about politics.
I am thankful for the freedom from the gender oppression that happens in so many other countries. Here, I am just as valuable as anyone else, and that is simply not the case everywhere.0 -

Headed to a 50 mile bike ride with some friends in the 4th of July capital of Nebraska. Should be a good ride. Partly cloudy and 80.

I read an interesting rant about a guy who hates people saying Happy 4th of July. We don't say Happy February 14th or Happy December 25th. Today happens to be July 4th but we celebrate today because it is Independence Day.

Today, I have the right to believe in and worship my God, to vote, to exercise my individual freedoms as indicated in our civil rights and laws.
I am thankful for the freedom to excercise these rights.
I am thankful for the freedom from oppression, from dictatorship. I am thankful for the freedoms that being a U.S. citizen demands and insures us all, regardless of my race, my gender, my beliefs. Let freedom ring!
