Deficit after a long run

Does anyone else have a hard time maintaining a deficit after a long run? I ran 12 kms yesterday and found it really hard to get moving today. I was exhausted and super hungry. Ended up napping on the couch. I'd like to not be so hungry after!
Stats: 5'8" female, 177 lbs, hoping to get to 145-165 lbs. Strength train, so I've got a bit of muscle, but still like 28% body fat. Trying to drink lots of water, I've had 3 litres in total today I think, if you include the water in my protein shake. And yesterday's 12km run was a difficult terrain trail run with tons of hills. I've got DOMS in plenty of small leg muscles I never knew I had!

This will ease as you run more - when I was similar stats to you a long run would definitely require a nap that afternoon. Ensure you are fuelling adequately before you run, eat something (ideally with fat and protein) soon after you run, and drink loads the day before your long run. Don't be afraid to eat all your exercise calories back if it's been a hard run. And well done on your efforts!!4

i am half marathon training at the moment and cant hold a deficit of more than 100 cals once my long run gets over 10 miles!3 -
