We are almost to the end of August! For those of us in the United States, we have a holiday called Labor Day coming up Monday, September 4. While it is not the calendared end of summer, it is treated by our cultural end of summer. Everyone takes the long weekend as a holiday to enjoy the last of the summer fun activities. After that, we pass the baton of summer to @craigo3154 and @aeshippers
Please note that the September UAC is set up for you and you may sign up at this link http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/122363-ultimate-accountability-challenge-september-2017
Hope to see you there!!

Exercised?: Yes. Walked 4 Km in 35 mins (hills).
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Different route today, Steeper climb (which is why seemingly slower pace).
Weekend tomorrow (Yay!)
Joined September UAC.
@cardio_enthusiast. I know it does not work well for you, but I may try early morning work out as it has other benefits (like leaving the rest of the day free). As I am heading towards summer, it is the cooler part of the day and I get light from 6:00am now. I will try it and see how it goes. Many years ago I used to the cycle the hills I now walk and did them early morning.
@bocasdelbadbob. Great climb. 2000ft. 83% of max heart rate would be edging on the anaerobic range anyway (and good training).
@hil331115. Look forward to seeing you in September.
@RangerRickL. Hard to avoid junk food when travelling. Still sounds like it went far better than it could have.
@marthall. Not many days left, can still make circle this month. Stick to plan.

Did anyone else see the MFP blog yesterday that out of 165 weight loss strategies that people came up with #1 is having other people involved in your efforts. It was talking UAC!10

Exercised?: Yes
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
I too favour the early morning workouts. As Craig says, it leaves the rest of the day free. I also like the early morning jogs along the woodland trails as all the wildlife is out - deer, foxes, loads of birds and squirrels etc and hardly any people, just the odd dog walker which I see regularly.
Unfortunately my day has been a bit chaotic, and I couldn't get out this morning, so settled for a jog on the treadmill.
Joined Septembers UAC.
Workouts:-
35min jog this morning on the treadmill (7.5mph / 3% incline: 8 mins per mile).
30 mins HIIT tabata workout with weights.
Walking:-
Walked into town this afternoon (1.6km) and took the dogs out for their walk - mixed terrain/hills (4.1km).
Total distance walked: 5.7km - with jogging: 12.4km
Total steps walked: 11,426 - with jogging: 17,272
Total calories burned: 1197
Total calories consumed: 1116

I appreciate each and every one of you who are still hanging in with us and reporting in. Look around, you are the survivors!!!
I had a nice recovery day. Two grand daughters here with us overnight. We had a nice fire for hot dogs and s'mores. @craigo3154 and @trixsey1 do you know what a s'more is? I have no idea if that concept is just in the USA. It's a graham cracker with a square of chocolate and a fire roasted marshmallow. I ate mine with a gluten free marshmallow and graham cracker.
Calories: under by a smidge
Tracking: ok
Exercise: lots of walking around the farm and carrying tools, chairs and lots of other stuff.5 -
Definitely not healthy, but a classic summer outdoor treat. A S'more, because everyone wants some more.

@craigo3154 Our days are getting shorter and yours are getting longer.....When I am working I love the early morning workouts. I will go back to that when I get back to work. 4K in 35 minutes of steep hills is a VERY good time! Glad to read that you joined September's group!
@120maggie thanks for letting us know about the article. I too think we do much better when sharing our journey with others and do believe our UAC group is the BEST there is!
I Joined September's UAC hope to see you all there.
Good night everyone!

Yes x3. Did 30 or so minutes of lower body strength. I was huffing and puffing and sweating like crazy. Who needs running when there are heavy weights to be lifted! Haha.4

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. Dog walk only today. I'm tired.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
I woke extremely tired and a little grumpy today. I got a call to go into work earlier than scheduled (already working a day off) so had to fly through my morning routine, including a quick trip to Sprouts. On my drive in, Billy Joel 'My Life' came on the radio, the intro is long so I called my husband, put him on speaker and turned the radio up really loud. When he answered he went straight into song word for word. I burst out laughing and he sang the next verse and then asked me if I needed anything else from him today? No darling, I don't need anything else from you, you made my day, changed my mood and kept me laughing out loud for the next 20 minutes.7 -

Oh man! I was debating going camping. Now I know I am going camping!

2300 foot climb. Tried running my heart a little bit tighter but that didn't pan out.
Seen a trail runner I am somewhat acquainted with. Ugh, that guy is still faster than me and he is a dang runner.
Maybe I will go to Colorado Trail on Monday and hang out in some rarefied air for exercise.
I don't get to hang out with Buddy if I do that though.
So, what is morE fun? Hanging with Buddy or Colorado Trail?
(or S'mores)
Heh, I wonder if I could get Buddy to eat S'mores.
Oh, and I got some new descent PR's.
So I ain't getting stronger but I am getting crazier. That is what that means.

Yes x3.
50 Mins strength training first thing so I knew that exercise criteria was in the bag, also 30 minutes at lunch time and we had friends join us for the weekend so strolled back down to the beach late evening to stretch legs that had been in the car 5 hours (lots of traffic for UK Bank Holiday weekend - makes me glad to live in a holiday spot!).
Good thing I did all that exercise, as dinner was pizza again and I indulged in some of my wife's chocolate cake which was superb as usual.
@craigo3154 Thanks, I think I can make it!
Joined Sept UAC thanks @trixsey1 for the prompt
@Sandera2 I hope you recover quickly
