Getting married again?

So what issues would I be needing to think about/ be concerned about when getting married again, with regards to children? After 5 years of being single and countless heartbreaks, I think I've found The One, lol. It's definitely a new ball game when there are kids involved. I have a five year old son, and we have no contact at all with his father or father's side of the family.
