Total loss for month -
Hi all! I'm back.....again! I gained a few pounds but managed to knock 5 of those off last week, bringing me back to 28lb loss overall (I had made it to 32lb for a brief shining moment!) Been a difficult 2 months and in terms of work, August will be the worst yet. I'm a Finance Manager, do the words "year end" mean anything to you?
But there is light at the end of my tunnel - I have a new job! I start 4th September.
So just 5 more weeks to endure here. New role is as an analyst, will be on a much bigger scale than my current organisation (handling 10x the budget!) and probably more pressured in some ways - but I will not have the team management to worry about, which means I'm not the one fighting all the battles, and definitely not fighting them on my own as I have been for so long! So hopefully a much better place for me. Some small personal concern about moving from a university to a bank, I like to believe in the mission of my organisation, and here I really do! But even if it ends up being a stop gap and I move on quickly, it will hopefully take a hell of a lot of pressure off me.
So for August, I am indeed going to try and continue to lose, but am keeping my target to a pound a week and will be happy even with maintenance.
September will be a new job, a new start, and time to kick some serious butt!
Hope you are all well and winning your battles - or at the very least, persevering!1 -

LTGW: discussing with Dr. on 7/31. I'd love to make it to the "normal" range, which is 138, but don't know where that falls in terms of possibility.
Weigh ins: Thursdays* Will be on vacation the week of 8/14/17 so not likely to weigh in, but hoping for the best with a very active vacation planned---swimming, tubing, boating, fishing, jet skiing, maybe water skiing, horseback riding, kayaking, and I'm hoping to climb a tiny cliff on the lake and get out on the rope swing, but we'll see if my knees can handle it.

Dr. Appointment went very well! My goal is to get to a normal BMI and he says for me it would be possible, because I have exceeded all expectations. He was super impressed with my iDXA scan-especially the fact that the red (high-fat concentration) areas are all outside my core and only on my legs . He says that I likely have 10-15 lbs of just excess skin and has referred me to a surgeon because it is "medically necessary." I'm very proud. Do NOT give up y'all, I was bigger than everybody in this group! (and I'm only 5'2.5")2 -

Just logging this so you don't think I've given up - my scale battery is dead so I couldn't weigh in! Normally I get a week or two of it flashing 'lo' before it dies but I didn't this time. Will hopefully be able to buy a battery before next weekend.
I'm not optimistic that it would have been a loss, in fact it was probably a gain. The single busiest week of the year at work, and that's without all the extra work I'm doing recruiting my replacement and writing handover notes. Plus time of the month and I wanted to eat everything in sight.
But, it's a new week, and whilst not much less busy it's another chance to get it right. Interviewing today and tomorrow for my replacement, once we appoint and know when they can start I can negotiate the timing of my last few days of holiday.
4 weeks to go in this job.....and one of those will be holiday!
Well done on your losses so far0 -

Well that was a pretty devastating weigh in. I was really good this week and was expecting a 2lb loss not a 4lb gain. Before redoubling my efforts this month I had been staying at 285 for ages so eating well and going above that is really a kick in the nuts. Booooo!0 -

Try not to be disheartened! We all know (and forget!) that the scale isn't everything. Your body will thank you for eating healthily even if you've got a gain this week. There's plenty of other factors that can cause that bump - hormones, water, bowel movements, sleep.....I know you know all this, but we all need reminding when things look bleak
Keep going and the scale will move in the right direction soon.0 -

Well I'm not exactly thrilled with this, but I'm content enough. It's been the busiest 2 weeks of the year at work and to add to the usual mess I've been doing the recruitment for my replacement. I've been trying to cook instead of reverting to take out and have done better than normal on that front. But I have also been relying on chocolate to get me through long stressful days! So to be honest I'm mostly surprised it wasn't a bigger gain!
This week I have fully planned all my meals and bought the necessary groceries. I realised on my meal planner that the last time I planned a full week properly was 16th June - and I didn't stick to it. Trying for a better attempt this week
3 weeks till I start my new job!0 -

Vacation was awesome! I paddleboated, swam, treaded water, jet skiied, tubed behind a jet ski, worked out on a stand up paddleboard, walked, kayaked, and hiked and actually LOST WEIGHT on vacation, despite eating a LOT ( and certainly over my macros ) certain days and drinking my weight in coffee for the driving. If I can do this, anyone can. Keep logging, keep moving, and keep loving yourself.0 -
Jen and Pidge, Keep logging, keep moving as much as you are up to. Temporary gains happen all of the time, you CAN do it!0

Hey everyone! I'm looking forward to starting to log again. All of July I was having uncontrollably panic attacks that would last hours. They would even keep me from sleeping which made everything worse. I think I was finally having a mental breakdown they were so bad. After some tests, it was found that I was deficient in B12 and iron. I was nearly sent to the hospital my levels were so low. Ive been on iron and now taking B12 shots at home weekly. Since I've started this routine, I haven't had a single panic attack.
Hubby and I have also just moved into our first house so we have quite a bit of unpacking to do. Don't know where my scale is atm but ill post some numbers once I find it.
