Yesterday, it was such a joy to read @bocasdelbob report on his day. Riding a mountaiin bike in the mountains and then time at the school with children gives him peace of mind.
@pears734 shared about working out after a day in school.
@craigo3154 glowed about his daughter and then, about his skills building activities with his drone-quad.
Others checked in just because they enjoy the sense of community.
@pribud wished us all a happy good night. @trixey1 is always a welcoming presence
Thanks to everyone who feels at home here on the UAC team.

Exercised?: Yes. Walked 5 Km in 39mins (hills).
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
OK weather today. Not much else to report (except I changed the camera in the quad - Hopefully clearer picture now. Soldering skills are getting better).
Looking forward to dinner tomorrow (wife's birthday).

@RangerRickL
I am a day late responding to "You're Only One Workout Away from a Good Mood".
My best buddy and I have been walking partners for the last 25 years. Last Christmas, my buddy took the saying "You're Only One Walk Away from a Good Mood", put it on a canvas and gave this to me as my Christmas gift. So perfect, so meaningful and so true.
I need to walk every day to feel good and be in a better place. If I miss more than 2 days in a row, my mood takes a hit.

@RangerRickL Here's my wonderful canvas with the inspirational saying "You're only one walk away from a good mood".3

Today is my 22nd birthday It had a bit of a shaky start but so far so good It's also the day I took my physical test for the army
My results were amazing in 3/4
Required longjump was 160CM / 5Feet 3inches I got 213CM / 7Feet
Required Power Throw was 450CM / 14'9feet I ended up with 525CM / 17Feet
Deadlift required was 160Pounds I went up the max which was 235
Sadly where I failed was the shuttle runs which I had to do 38 20Meter dashes sadly only got to 22 as I've never worked on sprints or dashes it winded me compared to my usual hiking
With all that being said I will continue doing my best improving everyday until I pass.10 -
@SimonsChange 3/4 could you imagine that a year ago!! So now you know have to train and we want to hear your progress on those shuttle runs!! Celebrate the rest of the birthday in style!!4

Well I'm out for this month. Can you believe it...I was doing great until I came down with this stupid cold. I have been non-stop craving carbs so my calories have been over. I didn't want to adjust my calories because I'm sick....feels like I'm cheating. But I will continue to check in and stay accountable for the remainder of the month. I am going to make this a habit. Otherwise I've been doing good with exercise - miles and miles of walking everyday and yoga at night with my kitten7
-
Beautiful kitty! @carlsoda. Sorry to hear you're full of cold. So awful being ill. Well done for sticking with the group.
@SimonsChange - you must be so proud at what you have accomplished. Just reading those results are amazing! Happy birthday too...xx
@craigo3154 - Happy birthday to your wife for tomorrow. Hope you both have a lovely dinner.....xx
@RangerRickL - Thank you...xx
Well today started off okay. Had my run in the morning, visited a mate later in the day, didn't get back until 3pm and still needed to take the dogs.
Rain finally stopped around teatime so what should have been a hour walk turned into 3, lol. It was so dark on the way home, glad I've got a torch on my phone. Stuck to the trails on the way back but you look ahead and all you can see is darkness! Very creepy and they seem to go on forever in endless blackness too!
Was glad to get back to civilisation and finally got home at 8:30
So a late snack to get my calories up, showered and logging in for night.
It's now 10pm here, so sweet dreams to all. Hope you all have had a good day today...Hugs...xx4 -
@SimonsChange happy birthday! Wishing you a wonderful, healthy, happy, exciting and fun year ahead! All the twos, twenty two!
Please don't be disappointed. We all know you will get there. And selfishly for us, we're happy if it means we keep you for a little while longer!
Exercise yes, calories probably yes but tracking not finished and going to bed now!
Keep going everyone!3 -
(it's nearly midnight. It's been a long day. Tomorrow's going to be a hard day too just to explain if that sounded lazy. Exhausted rather than lazy!)2

@carlsoda we always had a gray tiger kitty like that when I was growing up. Still have a soft spot for them.
Horrible day at work. Customer quality issue we can't figure out. My husband, who doesn't feel well, snapped at me when I got home. I decided to take our team advice. Grabbed a protein bar instead of making dinner and burned up the last of the daylight on my bike. I feel better but unfortunately it didn't solve any of the other problems of the world. Tracked and calories fine

My sweetie is a competitive cross country skier--par for the course, since he's a Norwegian dude , I did the first part of my workout with him--riding my bike, as he rollerskied. It was crisp, chilly, and lovely out.
Exercise: bike riding and circuit training >20 minutes
Calories: stayed under goal
Tracking: yes, I tracked everything
Keep up the good work, everyone! I love reading your entries.

@SimonsChange Happy Birthday!!!!
Exercise? Yes, 46 minutes of strength training and a 1.3 mile run
Calories? Yes
Tracking? Yes
I attended a Chili cook-off with a friend today. Fortunately, the samples were small, but I still ate quite a bit. I had a very good workout this morning, so I had plenty of calories to eat guilt-free. It was a fun time We also walked to and from the building that hosted the event (30 minutes), so we had a little additional exercise as well.4 -
3 yesses today. Getting hit with the cold my kids brought home from school this week so took it easy today. Walking and yoga.

@SimonsChange. Happy birthday.
Great results with the 3/4 for the physical (the 3 passed all exceed OPAT black standard).
A few weeks interval training and the body will improve at sprints.
Hiking, while great cardio, is not good for stamina needed for the increasing speed of the "beep test" sprints.
(I'm assuming that the "beep test" is the one being used for OPAT. The best way to improve this is to practice with the audio so you can get the pacing right and not go too fast at the start and wait too long for the next leg. Aim to improve by 1 or 2 more sprints per two days till you get to the required level. It becomes a mental test as well as a physical one. Training to the test is the best way to excel at this one).

September 21
Exercise yes
Much improved today. After that unfortunate pass Wed because of lack of exercise I was more determined than ever not to let it happen again. I walked first thing in the morning. It's really humid and was in the 90's here today so glad I went early. Felt great just to be out getting the legs moving and the heart pumping. I had a very good day today!! So I'm pretty sure @RangerRickL is right about exercise and mood go hand in hand
Calories yes
Tracked yes
Thursday I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get a smaller size when I did a bit of shopping. As I was looking in the mirror trying on clothes I was mostly liking what I saw. I got a couple of size small tops. I was looking at the tops after trying them on and thinking what a difference a couple of months makes. I'm getting less stressed about the scale and more encouraged about the way I feel and the nice way my clothes are fitting. Thanks to all of my UAC friends -- I really owe this all to your encouragement. With the encouragement from great friends like you I really think I can make this a way of life as opposed to a diet.
@120maggie Sorry you had a bad day. Sometimes I just want to go to bed just to end my day so I can start the next day. Hoping you have a much better day today2 -
@carlsoda I'm sorry you are having a rough time. Everthing is off when you are sick and your body is trying to repair itself. Minor setback. As you said making it a habit is the key. Lovely pic of your kitty. Sweet kitties always make me smile. Thanks for sharing--our pets can really be a comfort.0

@craigo3154 Thanks for the advice it'll certainly be a fun beast to tackle and the forecast for the next 10days is all Sunny or cloudy with no chance of rain so it'll give me plenty of time to practice. And yes it's the beep test I had gotten to Level 3 - 8 and need to get to 5 - 8 In time i'll overcome it.2 -
@SimonsChange: Happy Belated Birthday! I hope it was a great one.
