    1) Stick to a sleep schedule
    2)pay attention to what you eat/drink and when
    3)create a restful environment
    4) limit day time naps
    5) include physical activity in your daily routine
    6) manage worries
    7) know when to contact your doctor
    I fail on most of the above. For several years, I have taken a prescription drug to enhance my sleep. I still average 6 hours per night, with one night per week of 8 hours.

    After reading many posts yesterday, I realise I am blessed with sleep. I used to get a good 9hrs solid and I've been getting between 7-8 since we have the dogs. They wake us at 6am for a walk (mornings are getting darker) and whilst we get up and go, I'd really appreciate if it all happened at least an hour later than it does.

    I don't function well when I lack sleep, I make poor food choices and have no energy but the worst thing is, I'm grumpy. That's no good for anybody, nobody likes grumpy Loraine, especially me!

    Today hasn't been a very good day at all, very stressful and upsetting.
    Found out that my brother has Angina and spend 9 hours in A&E, late into night into the early hours of this morning.
    Our Dad died of the same condition and honestly it's been a battle to have to deal with this again.

    I don't see my sibling much, perhaps 4 times a year if I'm lucky as he works all over the UK and likes to travel with his women when he's got any spare time, so I don't often get to see him.
    Apparently he's been suffering for over a year without getting checked out - stupid, stupid man. I've told him as much too.

    He's got meds and blood thinners and he's waiting on a call later today from the hospital.
    He needs to make some healthier choices now - like quitting smoking for one and reduce his cholesterol levels.
    His weight isn't a problem, he's always been slender and muscular and his work is quite demanding physically, so that isn't a problem, although he could do with slowing down.

    Anyway, sorry to drone on, but he's the only family I've got left, except my kids of course. I just don't want to find him lying there dead one day, like I did my Dad - I just can't go there again.

    Soooo..........I've tried to track mentally, but I had some ham and cheese sandwiches and these (very delicious) oats and honey snacks, lol, and more coffee than I care to admit so I'm just gonna pass today as I'm still to have my last meal of the day and my hands are shaking like mad (my sign that I need food) so I'm gonna grab myself a meal and try and get an early night.

    @RangerRickL - he is kind of a cool philosopher when you think about it. Did I spell that right?
    Anyway, one of his remarks talks about hanging out with people that make you feel good. I think he said that or I think he said that about somebody that said that.
    I like hanging out with my little Buddy. He makes me feel good. I make him feel good.
    Except ... the last couple of days he had a blister on his foot and I didn't figure it out.
    I was walking him on it.
    That little guy. He ain't got concise expression but he is intrepid. He will soldier on just to please me. He ain't got language. He only has laughter or lack of it. But His laughter does have inflection.
    Rick talks about forgiveness and I think we are supposed to forgive ourselves for lack of discipline in our diets.
    Here is me trying to forgive myself for marching my little rapscallion on his blister.
    I got these little kids that are like this. They can't talk. Somehow we have to figure out how to read them.
    I didn't go see Buddy today.

    Went for a bike ride though. I don't guess I feel like talking about it.

    Bouncing back ... I am going to be all about my little Buddy.

    Heh! I guess that is what I lost sleep over.

    I had a weirdass dream that I stole an airplane.

    @trixsey1 I understand a bit of how you feel. I lost my mom last year, but to diabetes. My younger sister is all I have left of her (except my daughter). But she never knew my mom, so we can't reminisce together like my sis. It's pretty devastating, isn't it. I hope your brother makes some changes and sticks around for a long time to come! :)

    So i messed up and posted about today on yesterdays thread, but three yesses.

    @trixsey1 so sorry for what you are going through. The worst thing in the world is not being able to fix a loved one's health. Hang tough. Use your awesome healthy habits for stress reduction.

    Tracking: ok
    Exercise: 60 minutes out in the woods carrying logs and then starting a giant fire. It was so beautiful

    @trixey1, I'm sorry about your brother. It's hard to see someone you love suffer, and it's even harder when they are stubborn. However, I've seen lots of cardiac patients like him get scared and turn their lives around. I hope he's one of them.

    @marthall, my exercise buddy and I have been doing starting strength for two years, and we've moved from the bottom, to solid intermediates in the top 15-20%. We just lift 2x a week, because we're old :D , but we've gotten so strong on this program. Our main concern is to not get injured so we can keep at it. I lost 10 lbs while lifting. It just takes longer to gain strength, while losing fat, but what's the hurry anyway. It's fun.

    Busy day with work and daughters spring concert at school. Managed to get demo for US finished at 2:00am. Need to re-prioritize sleep.

    At least managed to get walk in.

    #1 - If work would stick to a schedule, so would I.
    #2 - MFP & UAC (yay!)
    #3 - No electronics in the bedroom.
    #4 - Not always possible. 15 minute nap is often VERY helpful.
    #5 - UAC (yay!)
    #6 - Really???!!!!
    #7 - Well I fail on that one.

    Fortunately, the sports psychology I did for competitive skating (and a 4 year battle with ME/CFS when in my 20's) gifted me with the mental tricks (and capacity) to sleep whenever and wherever I NEED to (and also stay awake and functional when I need to). I just find I work much better on regular sleep and regular exercise.

    I went back to work today after two weeks off. I had a great day and go back tomorrow for round two.

    @trixsey1 so sorry to hear about your brother. Praying this brings a change of habits.

    3 yesses today. Went for a 4 km walk with a friend this morning and a 20 minute trx workout.

    Sleeping is always something I have issues with as I generally use that time to think and evaluate my day

    I'm fortunate to fall asleep easily. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to dreamland, but that has decreased lately. :)
