Drinking lots of water is an easily overlooked health promoting idea. Most of us drink too much caffeine and almost 'anything but water." If you improve your water drinking routine, you will improve a lot more than you expect.

Exercise: bike to work, very windy on the ride home so an extra workout. Also did 10 minutes of squats, curl ups and glute bridges.
Tracking and calories both ok.6 -

Exercised?: Yes. Walked 5 Km in 38 mins (hills).
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Dodging showers today. Could not seem to make usual pace. Need more sleep (late night last night, and early morning this morning).
Managed to finally get my wife to walk with me in the forest (slowly, about 1km, definitely not at my pace or distance, but at least "off the couch" ). Am so happy about this. She is happy to walk with me each day. Part of my weight loss and now management was to help inspire her (and learn what I can do to help). She has already been a big help on my journey, hopefully I can help her on hers.
Also got to go flying the FPV quad in the forest (dodging trees ). Skills are now good enough to avoid hitting things. Hopefully next month I will be able to post some video of parts of where I walk taken from the air (getting some extra equipment to allow me to record flights).
@RangerRickL. Good info on water. Oddly enough, that is mostly what I drink (average day is 2 cups of black unsweetened tea and everything else is water).
One tip I used to use is to drink one glass of water before a cup of tea (or coffee). This way you don't guzzle the tea of coffee and you have extra hydration to counteract the diuretic effect of the caffeine.
@aeshippers. I like how you have incorporated bodyweight exercises into your daily routine.
@Dosse1320. 6km in 55mins is a brisk pace. Much faster than normal walking. Well done.
Looks like a great day yesterday. Didn't see any passes. Well done UAC friends.

Good day for everyone yesterday. Did not see any passes. Great job UAC friends.4 -
Good luck @hil331115. Hope the hurricane loses its strength by the time it reaches Florida.
@craigo3154 Good to hear that your wife is coming on board. I can be quite zealous with health and fitness and pushed/encouraged my adult daughter too much. As a result she rebelled. She is an obliger too and food and exercise is what obligers typically rebel against.3 -

Beautiful almost full moon walk this morning. No hint of dawn anymore. Zumba at lunch. Tracked and under calories. Tried the Halo high protein/low calorie ice cream that everybody raves about. -- It didn't live up to the hype. I will stick to my 100 calorie Yasso yogurt bars. Be safe everybody who is near storms and wildfires.6

Drinking water was one of the first healthy habits that I picked up and stuck with. I drink a ton of it now, carrying a water bottle everywhere that I go.
I am shortening my strength workouts on weekdays, as I'm getting up in the wee hours and don't want to race to class every morning. I plan on sticking with my longer workouts on weekends, though. Thankfully, I've learned to tweak my workout routine without giving up on it entirely when it can't be managed like I had in the past.2 -
3 yesses. Went for a 10km bike ride pulling my 4 year old in the trailer and keeping the gears set to a challenging level. My legs were jello after!
I love water. Coffee and water are all I ever drink and I always have a 24oz water bottle with me that I refill at least 4 times a day. Needless to say, I burn some extra calories with all the flights of stairs I climb since our only bathroom is on the second floor!2 -

This week has been all about time management - I have none...time I mean...lol
I keep getting interrupted or called or texted....I have been a cab this week. It's driving me crazy. So now am just biding my time till next week. Everyone's schedule will be set and things will be easier.
Water was always hard for me....but I have turned to mio...I can put down almost 4 Lt's a day now...so I'm going with it...

yes x3, 45mins strength training and 50 mins walk.
Approx two months since I started this round of weight loss, even though my head is better prepared with better expectations of what to expect I'm finding it a little daunting thinking about the months I've got to keep this up and although I see changes now I am nowhere near being proud of what I see in the mirror. I know that I have to be patient and I'm being much more successful at measuring myself by the process on a day to day basis and not the results.
anyway, I'm just indulging in a moan, I just wanted to put something more than yesx3 in my update.4 -

I felt like this Martin, when I first started with my weight loss journey and I feel I have to write a little something regarding my thoughts on this...
I wasn't very fit, very much overweight, and I found everything I tried to be quite difficult, and I found myself thinking, more than once, that I can't do this.
I think it's important to find that motivation, find the reasons why you are here in the first place and why your are wanting to lose weight and use that as your fuel.
My own reasons where the fact, that a few years back I was having some health problems. My weight played was a huge factor in these problems (no pun intended, lol).
And knowing that if anything happens to me, there is no one there to look after my kids. Granted they were younger then, but I have no other family and I'm pretty much on my own, so I needed to focus on my own health to be there for them. Then there's my dogs, as I treat them like my kids, lol.
I think if it wasn't for the kids I don't know where I would be now, I certainly wouldn't be the fitness freak I am today, lol.
I don't know why you want to lose weight, or what prompted you to start.
Perhaps you just want to look good in yourself, show off a new you to the wife, be more active for the kids (I don't know there ages) but once you've found that reason - that motivator, hold on to it - that alone will see you through each activity, each burn, and each agonizing workout, lol.
The changes you spoke of will happen - it's happening now and you will lose weight if you keep track of your calories and keep yourself active. Finding the right activity is also helpful, there's nothing worse than going through a whole workout routine, burning and sweating away if you're not going to enjoy it. Find something that works for you.
Also, 2 months isn't that long a time. Take a look and see where you are now, and think were you will be in 6mths from now, a year from now. Take some pictures if you like and you can reflect back on them and you will see how far you have come.
I know you want to concentrate on building muscle, so focus on that. Mix it around with some cardio and make your workouts fun.
Walking has always been my favourite activity, even when I was too obese to go far, then I found I like to jog once I challenged myself to push harder and go further for longer, and now I have found I enjoy cycling too which I wouldn't have considered doing before.
Once you've found your activity then focus on that. Go a little faster, a little longer each time and make it your own.
I was once told that it'll take you as long to lose your weight as it did to gain it in the first place. My weight slowly increased over the years, so being told that, I figured it would take a good 5 years+ to lose it all! - I was told wrong!
You can lose weight - the right way - by having the right knowledge, the motivation and determination - and a little accountability from the UAC, lol.
These are my own personal thoughts anyway - not all will agree - you might not yourself- but I found it works for me.
You're doing great Martin, keep at it and keep posting those x3 yes'es - you're on the right track for a healthier body - a healthier you.

Yes × 3!
@120maggie: I tried the Halo as well and agree! I also tried the Yasso without any success.
But I'm learning portion control; it is amazing how tiny a 1/2 cup serving is! I think the best portion size for me is 0.0 cup!1 -

Yes x 3
Heh, something more than yes x 3 ...
Hey since you guys don't know my real name I might tell you how weird I am.
Starting with today's food.
So I goes to the little school house. My wife is there. It is my home away from home. Actually, if I felt like having a job that is where I would have one. Nevermind that.
I take Buddy to the cafeteria. He has his own lunch but still he is supposed to eat in there. It is part of archetypal experience of being a kid. I am happy to do that with him. I feed him. He is getting pretty good and forceful about feeding his own self with a spoon. That is one of our goals. I promised him a trip to Paris France to a tablecloth restaurant if he gets that spoon thing worked out. Awright, that ain't weird. I musta digressed.
So I am in the cafeteria and I notice that they are feeding these kids turkey legs. Most, if not all of them kids are grossed out by them and throwing them away. Me an Buddy are trying to get thru their line. They are in line to the trash can to throw them away.
I am all like hey kid, can I have your turkey leg. He is all like "Sure mister. here you go, you are weird." I am all like "Thanks kid."
So I am gobbling turkey leg that almost made it to the trash can. That counts as weird.
So me an Buddy finishes up lunch. I promised him some recess. I always give him some recess. Archetypal experience and all. You get it.
But it is hot so I thought maybe we ought to take a detour through the admin building. There is a drinking fountain in there. I always want to see if Buddy is interested in that for a drink.
I got him pushing his wheelchair. He ain't riding in it. That is the new rules. But we get up to the drinking fountain, I get him to let go of the wheelchair handles and kind of guide him over to the drinking fountain. I push the button, see if I can get him interested in pushing the button. He don't care about water. He had plenty out of my water bottle at lunch.
He pulls away and he is pulling me. I am fascinated by this. Buddy wants something and he wants it bad enough to pull for it.
Principal is there. She is fascinated by us. Lots of them teachers are. Buddy is pulling towards the teachers lounge. I tell her, "he thinks his mom is in there."
Buddy's mom used to be PTA president. That was from all the way back to him being a wee rascal. So he knows that architecture and he has an expectation of where his mom might be.
I didn't want to take him in there. It ain't like we are teachers lounging ... you know what I mean. But I took him around to show him his mom wasn't there.
After that we go back outside. He is pushing his wheelchair. A little girl, she is so cool, She knows Buddy from their church. She wants a ride in the wheelchair while Buddy is pushing it.
Heh, heh, her friends come up to her, "what's wrong?" They ask. They think something wrong because she is riding in a wheelchair. But they figure it out. Then they all want a ride, Buddy pushing them in his wheelchair.
We push past teachers with strings of kids in tow. The kids look at us with that confused look of "...what..?" The teachers smile us some deep seated smiles.
This is a happy place.

Hi everyone sorry I have not been around much on here. I have been so busy lately. Learning about home based businesses. I have joined as a Pampered Chef Consultant and I already do homemade oil crafts and homemade candies ect. Learning the ins and outs of what I can and can't do....lol.....I AM going back to work full time in January(Ihope) but I have to be pro-active as who knows how long I will last doing retail management full time again...lol....If when I go back if everything works out and I can do it then my husband Bud will help me with the home based stuff. I will do the parties (as I love the interaction with people and I have fun doing them) but Bud will help with all the prep and deliveries. I know I am CRAZY but i love being busy and this not working has been hard. Anyway I still have a lot to learn as I want to be the best I can be at anything I do...lol
yes X 3 for me today
exercise walking
calories yes below
tracking yes
water 11 glasses
@RangerRickL I too believe water is very important and my goal is 10-12 glasses a day, which I do faithfully. My goal is to continue this through the winter as well
@craigo3154 So glad to hear your wife is joining you........makes things easier when we are both focussing on the same things. I have been going with Bud when he walks our dog as well, always found that hard as I am an exercise walker and they are not. Now that I am recovering and can not walk as fast it is a pleasure to go with them...lol...
@mathall I do understand what you mean. When I first started out my goal was to lose 50lbs. The first couple of months it was slow going and I wondered if I could keep going at the pace I was losing weight. I stuck with it and here I am 7 months later 30.2 pounds lighter, I stuck with it, through back surgery(which I am still recovering from). I still lose weight at a crazy low rate for the amount I have to lose(as 50 was only my first goal...LOL), I just keep telling myself I can do this and I look back to when I started and realize I AM WINNING it just takes me longer than most....lol
@trixsey1 I love your insight.......YOU ARE AWESOME!
@Dosse1320 WOW! Great job on your walk yesterday!!!

@trixsey1 I am so proud of you and grateful for your personal story and encouragement to @marthall and the rest of us!!!
@bocasdelbob Dear Bob, we may not know your name, but we do know that you are a teddy bear and you love Buddy and the other kids too!! Well done, my friend!
@marthall Keep hanging with us. Success is just around the corner, but most people quit before they even get to the corner. @pribud and @trixsey1 are great examples of overcoming our own feelings of being discouraged.2
