@goldthistime - great vegy anf fruit goal I need to do that it is hard for me - any suggestions?

Hope every one has a great day and wonderful week!!!

Thanks, I did have a great day! As to more fruits/veggies, is the problem prep time or that you don't like them?

A few years ago I lost weight with no counting just by adding fruits or vegetables to everything I ate. So if I was reaching for a yogurt, I'd thaw some frozen blueberries and add them to the yogurt. If I felt like having a piece of cheese I'd eat some red pepper with it. If I wanted a spoonful of peanut butter I'd eat apple slices with it, etc. I have mixed greens a lot. I put them in a wrap if I can't stomach a straight salad, often a little with melted cheese. I eat eggs for breakfast now and often add in leftover veggies from dinner, or have the egg in a sandwich with tomato and avocado. I will often microwave a sweet potato (6 minutes) and add milk and spices to eat it like a dessert. We do up big batches of roasted or stir fried veggies, whatever is in the fridge. And I keep frozen veggies on hand.

In summary I usually combine them with a fat/protein because I find it easier on my stomach. Best of luck!

    1) Go to gym three times. 1/3
    2) Be a loving girlfriend. No fighting if I can avoid it. 3/7
    3) Get into a more grateful mindset. Put aside some minutes a day to foster it. 0/7 Ah, forget it. This week is too stressful to use it to start new beautiful habits. I am lucky I manage to be on point with my other plans.
    4) Write something for thesis 2/5

    Update for Thursday...

    1) track track track! (2/6) - I am tracking! Hurray!
    2) be green! (2/6) - This is more challenging to get back into the habit around. Planning is key.
    3) no alcohol this week (3/7) - This is going well. I plan on not drinking (with one exception) until Thanksgiving in October when we have a special weekend booked (returning to Algonquin!) My reason to stop is to get a consistent better night's sleep and to help me lose weight faster.

@goldthistime interesting goals - would love to know more about your preparedness plan

@hefnersw - how are your goals going for you this week?

@mepeiffer - thanks for the support! Your goals are multi-layered and inspiring - I want to get there too. Love the plank challenge, You seem to be conquering it. You've got this!

@skymningen a balck bear encounter? You must share a few more details. The closest I've been is their scat. I am always a little nervous but figure it is inevitable that we run into one someday. I know what to do, but wonder how I will actually feel and if I will be able to get up the courage to act big versus running for the hills! I like your gratefulness goal. I had a daily log once using an app, and I have to say it was amazing to look back over the year. Very uplifting. How is it going for you this week?

@HarvestSue2 great reminders about making tracking achievable! I will get some pre-cooking done this weekend. How are your steps going this week?

@IsMollyReallyHungry MOLLY!! - how are you doing with your goals this week? Hope you are feeling good and getting those goals a good shake!

We actually saw two, but I only count one. The first was a black bear which was near the road. There were lot's of people stopping and even kids trying to run after it. It was damned scared and I felt bad for it. Luckily a ranger came and dispersed the crowd because some people were clearly behaving dangerously stupid.

The same day we went on a trail. The longest one that you can do in one day, I think. Mizzy Lake. We chose it because it was longish and because it said "lots of wildlife". We only saw trails of wildlife though, other than some far away birds. So we were joking that there is no wildlife for us while nearing the very end of the trail (last 45 minutes of walking). There is a little marshy place you walk by, over planked paths. Just before that, while I was looking back to my mum who was joking, she suddenly said: "Stop, a bear!". I turned laughing because I was sure she wanted me to jump or something, and there it stood, just about 5 meters away from us on the side of the path. About as shocked to see us as we were to see it.
My mum asked what we should do, run, go backward or what. I just stopped and kept talking loudly and then started singing a childrens song she had repeated earlier (She's a teacher. It's a story about a family going to "hunt" a bear, pretending they are not scared. Then they see a sleeping bear in a cave and run, run, run all the way back.) I kept making noise, not crazy noise but "we are here, we are more than you" noise. The bear crossed the path and hid on the other side for some minutes. Then it raised on its hind feet, stared at us for a second (again, as curious as we were, too), went down again and just left. We composed ourselves and finished the trail. No pictures, as I actually just had packed the camera in my bag (we were nearly done, it started to get heavy around my neck). And I was too busy watching and singing anyway.

We affectionately call it "Mizzy" since.

About the gratefulness: Nevermind. Much too stressed this week, busy enough keeping up with the other goals. At least those go fine.

It's supposed to be my PhD thesis. If I ever finish... oh, Masters was so easy compared to this.

I am enjoying the full moon a lot right now. Want to stay and sit here and look at it while sloooooowwwly eating breakfast oats. But I planned to be early at work today. (I don't remember why though. Just because I guess.)
It helps with the grateful mindset, though.

Hello Elaine, glad you like the quotes!

Blue dots is used in Weight Watchers. WW gives you a healthy eating eating zone each day.
If you fall in that zone you get a blue dot on their calendar in the journal where you log your food.

So I am given 63 points each day and my healthy eating zone is 60 - 70 points. As long as I fall in that zone I get a blue dot. If over or under, no blue dot. I never come under. lol
As I lose weight my daily number goes down, just like here on MFP, your calories decrease as you lose weight.

Thanks for you support on here!

    My week's goals:
    1) 8 glasses of water a day
    2) 5 workouts a week
    3) > 250 cal deficit per day (eating back some exercise calories)
    4) Declutter and/or clean 30 min
    5) any weight loss (at least 1 lb preferred)

Well, I got my 8 glasses most days (missed it by 1 glass two days)
    Got my 5 workouts in
Calorie deficit didn't always hit 250 cal but I always ate within my allotment
I did declutter and clean--more still to do!
No weight loss this week-- I'm still a turtle!

Update for Friday. I must work on being green. I'm only at 50 percent. But I will do some cooking over the weekend to have good things handy. I have been attacked by munchies this week. I must plan better.

    1) track track track! (4/6)
    2) be green! (3/6)
    3) no alcohol this week (5/7)

@skymningen wow. I love that story!! Tony tells me this is the exact path we were on...headed to Mizzy Lake... only we cut it short to go back to the road (back to arowhon). We definitely saw evidence of bears but no bear encounter quite like yours. I also know that story very well. Part of my thrill in being a mom were the bedtime stories and that was one of them!

    Anyway thanks for sharing!

    1) Go to gym three times. 1/3 Yesterday I had to skip, because a friend spontaneously had a birthday party.
    2) Be a loving girlfriend. No fighting if I can avoid it. 5/7 Worked, other than today. There was nothing I could have done, he started it. Not sure how I feel about it. He was basically searching for something I would have done wrong.
    3) Get into a more grateful mindset. Put aside some minutes a day to foster it. 0/7
    4) Write something for thesis 3/5

Tough week for me for sure! I gained 2.8 pounds, but I know I need to get a minimum of 4 blue dot days to have a chance of losing. But week was good still because I got in more sleep, steps and veggies and if I had not did that it could have been worse than 2.8 pounds :)

    Goals week of 9/4/17:
    1) Five blue dot days on WW - 2/5 : :/
    2) 6000 step goal - 4/4 :)
    3) 10 min housework 2 days - 0/2 (de-clutter) This week for sure!
    4) Minimum of ONE veggie a day - 4/4 :)
    5) 7 hours sleep – 4/3 :)
    6) Checked in everyday!
