non-martial art

I studied some traditional kung fu which includes sanshou, but lately I've been learning modern wushu which is really more of a performance art with martial origins, more akin to gymnastics. It's still very athletic and requires a lot of conditioning. This is an old clip of my current coach, link below. I would love to see videos of you guys practicing or your schools/teachers!

    Awesome video! Thank you so much for sharing! I am not so sure I agree with you that this is 'non-martial' art, even if it lies heavier on the 'art' side.

    Well I mean nonmartial in that we don't practice much sparring and that many of the form movements have been modified and exaggerated from their original defense or offense purpose to be stylized. Many of the young people from my studio have either gone into stunt work and movie performance.

    (oops my post got cut off) ...or just competitions. I highly doubt longfist would be used in any kind of effective self defense :p
