As martial artists who are also members of a WL and fitness website, it can be helpful for us to remain accountable to each other, and share training ideas.

Any time you participate in class, or practice out side of class, post here and let everyone know. You can write something as simple as "Went to sparring class... got my licks in", or get into as much detail on the practice as you'd like.

This post gets rebuilt every day, to remind us to approach each practice/training/class with a fresh perspective:

- It doesn't matter how hard you worked yesterday... what matters is what you do today.

Took my first class since I sprained my ankle! Feels great to be back! I only took 1 class which all basics were reviewed.

Sparring class this morning. My boys were not pleased that I woke them up early on Saturday to go to karate. We usually take 2 classes a week, but this week I drug them to a third class.

I've just started sparring this month and it's mostly nerve-wracking and terrifying still. I had a couple partners today who really took the time to teach me. (And the guy who punched me in the eye taught me to keep my hands up. )

yesterday i went to a 2hr wushu class and started learning a different form in a style that is new to me. i think it's more traditional/southern china origins and has lots of slapping your body. i found a video of a master doing the form so i have something to aspire to.

That's fun to watch! Looks like it'd be a lot of fun to perform too!

I ran through Chon Ji yesterday with my students expecting to keep them interested for 15 minutes or so and the next thing I know we were 40 minutes in and they were glued to me! It was awesome!

    Chon Ji, that's my form!

I'm still on the injury list but I did stop by class last night to talk with my instructor about my knee status. I told him I'll be back in a couple more weeks for slow-motion movements at first. I'm also now well enough to get back to practicing my Chon Ji at home. Finally!

Forms can actually be fun I think. I just get sick of them when we have to do them over and over every day. When you do forms right they are a hell of a workout too!

So far in progress I've memorized (and help teach) gi choy, chon ji, do san, yol guk, and tae guk 6. Right now I'm learning Hwarang.

Spelling is all phonetic as possible :) I think I only need to memorize two more for my black belt test, tae guk 8, and choong moo

My favorite so far has been tae guk 6 but I think they just in general get more fun as you progress because they incorporate new strikes and stances.
