Just read an e mail that Betty Crocker has some baking mix that is rice flour and gluten free.. General Mills is the parent company and is trying to help those of us with Celiac disease to be able to bake without all the expense.. This new baking mix should cost $3.45 and should be in stores soon... I have tried some of her other Gluten free products and they are really good... Especially the brownies!!!!!

OMG I loved the brownies! The cakes are good too. Usually whenever I bake a cake in my house, it goes bad. My kids, husband, myself, and even my mom devoured the GF cake in like 2 days! I'm glad the new baking mix will be a bit cheaper though, I'm pretty sure the cookies/brownies were 5-6 bucks a box.
  • I love the cake mixes already so a new and cheaper mix would be awesome. I have a book that bases all of the recipes off of those cake mixes and I've made some really great gluten free desserts. I do have to be careful though because we can finish off a whole cake in a couple of days!

I recently bought a cook book "THE CAKE DOCTOR BAKES GLUTEN FREE".. The recipes use the gluten free cake mixes as a base....cakes, cookies, bundts and bars......great idea.... then you don't have to buy all the flours.. and we know the cake mix is good....

I had Anne Burn's, "CAKE MIX DOCTOR," before I had to ditch gluten and loved that book! I was going to try to use the gf cake mixes with the original book, but I'm thrilled she made a gluten free version! I made her GF yellow cake with caramel frosting for my guy's b'day, mmmmmm  !!

I don't buy all the flours anymore.. I just have brown and white rice flours to make my own general flour mix...
But will try Betty Crocker one....
