Pendlay row

Ok stronglifters,
This is my attempt at pendlay rows. I don't quite understand them, so I'm not sure if I'm doing them right, wrong or a bit of both. My knees aren't the best (which probably explains the squat problems I have too) and I had a disc removed between L5 and S1 nearly 25 years ago. (Thats the lower back are). It's ok, but until a couple of years ago, I've been too scared to do anything back-oriented. I just started when I lost a fair whack of weight. Oh, I'm rambling. Sorry - its bedtime!

Oh, I'm a wuss about my callouses!

that looked like a neat set of 5, back was kept in check and the movement was controlled
problems come with these when ppl try and ramp up the weight and start rounding the back to pull the weight.

nice weight stand there.
I'd even stand a little further back. if you check the video referenced in the helpful vids section he is a way back - it would also mean you are pulling towards your stomach not your boobs and keeping it lower back. do you have a side mirror you can check your set-up stance in - it's looking good to me, but it always helps reassure me.
Finally I'd keep your head up.
good set!
*please note I am not an expert and might be talking bull*0 -
Looked like your elbows are out a bit but hard to tell from the camera angle (?). Also, I realize you're trying to hit the stands with the barbell plates but try to keep your neck down and stationary (yikes!). Otherwise, good job0

I thought you looked pretty good and confident on these - it is a power move as well so the top of your move looked good as well.
Definitely just check your head and neck position on this and watch any rounding of your back - (oooo listen to be trying to be all knowledgeable)
I've had the pendlay row you tube video on repeat every time I've been doing these - and also checked them out from a few different angles - and I'd say you are looking strong zany!0 -
Thanks guys,
It sounds like this one needs less work than the squats. It's just such a weird lift, I think! Anyway, I'll try to keep my head up more (I do try to make sure I hit the rack things, so will just not care too much about it). I'm pleased I'm not doing too badly with these.
:flowerforyou: For all of you0
