Hi all! I am looking for both MFP and Fitbit friends to help me get motivated and keep working towards my goals. Hard to be the only one doing it. I have a Fitbit Charge 2, am a stay at home mom to 3 girls, and am looking to lose about 80 lbs. in a healthy way so I can set a good example. We are also a completely gluten free household, mostly dairy free, and are low tree nut too. Not sure if I have issues or not but my youngest most likely has Celiac but isn't diagnosed. My oldest has a wheat allergy but also seems to have an overarching gluten issue, again not diagnosed yet. Both are allergic to milk and the youngest has other allergies too. It's so hard to eat healthy within all these constraints. I just need some support.

Hi @RebornAdvocate. Sounds like you have a tough row to hoe. If one or both of your children have Celiac disease, it's almost a given that you and/or their birth father does too. Take a read through my Medscape thread on Gluten Free: community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10104290/medscape-medical-professionals-continuing-ed-site-celiac-disease-gluten-sensitivity-articles#latest

I only post scientific studies and articles that are legit peer review from the medical professionals' continuing education site MedScape.
My style of eating is low carb, moderate protein, and higher healthy fats. I find with Celiac disease this is the easiest way of eating for my health and I lost weight (35 lbs) and have kept it off for almost 4 years now. I'd be willing to friend but I don't have much of a diary anymore as I pretty well know what my eating parameters are. I can certainly be there for you, no matter what your eating style <3 . Technically I wouldn't worry about celiac testing as it is so damaging to the body just to get a positive confirmed. Even if never confirmed one still has to eat the same way for health - NO GLUTEN. Some people need the medical confirmation for their health insurance though. Sending a friend request.
