Yesterday, a good question was asked by a new member, "Do you have to post everyday." The answer is, "The UAC rules suggest, but do not insist that you post every day. However, the rules do state that you should post no less than every 3 days and include your results from all 3 days."
The UAC is designed to help you. We leaders want you to win this challenge and enjoy better health. You are all adults. We neither chase you nor chastise you.
Even though we read everyone's posts, we are not running an Excel spreadsheet on you. In fact, at the end of the month, we ask you to tell us whether or not you believe that you are in the Winner's Circle.

There are times when I have been on a diet that I would probably have shoplifted a pizza.
One of the goals of the UAC is that the healthy habits should make you feel good.
If you want a cupcake....just track it!

Exercised?: Yes. Walked 4 Km in 32 mins (hills).
Calories?: Yes. (by a lot)
Tracked?: Yes.
Good walk before flying today.
Wife made pavlova and ice cream again today. Double desert tonight.
Also the father of my daughters friend that visited today discussed an interesting point. He stopped eating bread for a medical reason. The processed wheat (flour) in the bread was causing inflammation (not gluten). The inflammation was casing other medical issues.
The point was that when he gave up bread (quite a while ago), the weight just fell off.
My experience has been quite similar. The real acceleration in weight loss occurred when bread was no longer on the regular menu. (I can have it if I REALLY want, but I usually like the calories elsewhere more.) Even Lo-Gi bread is not on the regular menu.
It is hard to give up wheat products. However, if you are struggling to lose weight, is regular bread/wheat products worth the weight problems? Would it not be a good idea to try restrict their input to maybe one day a week for a month and see if it makes a difference (without changing anything else).
@RangerRickL. With you 100%. UAC requires participants to take responsibility for themselves. Neither you or I will "chase", but we are here to encourage.
I also subscribe to the theory that all is permitted, only it should be tracked. I call my diet, the no-diet diet. I can have what I WANT (nothing is forbidden). The trick is slowly moulding what you WANT through your habits and reviewing your tracking (finding changes you can live with and working out how macros work to keep you full).
@glimjy. Well done for keeping in budget on a trying day. Being mindful of what you eat (before you eat it) seems to be the key.5 -

Absolutely agree. When someone asks what diet I'm on, I love telling them that I'm not on a diet. I simply focus on eating real foods and that if there is something I want to eat, I eat it. Thing is, when you get use to the taste of "real" food, the processed stuff is no longer very satisfying. I do find that tracking what I eat makes a huge difference. No magic bullet, just long-term lifestyle changes designed around the idea of healthy living.
(...and very time I think I don't need to track any more, I find that, actually, I do!)6 -

Agree totally, we are all responsible for what we do and itsgood to have the encouragement. I rarely eat bread I think I would struggle much more if I did.1 -

Yes x 3
Hiking with dog this morning. I got in this habit from a UAC member, I'm hooked, and my dog has finally lost weight. It was tougher taking the weight off of him than me. Also did deadlifts and presses today. It was the first time after a month away due to illness and it felt so good to get under the iron.7 -

Oh yeah on all of it but the bolded part in particular. I really can't just go back to willy nilly eating and thinking I have a handle on calories or macros without logging. Once I accepted this fact, I've been much happier and much better at maintaining the weight loss........LOL, it only took 4 years and 2 months to really figure that out!
Exercise: Yes, arms at the gym for 60 minutes plus a 20 min calisthenic warm-up and 20 min on the StairMaster
Calories: Under by about 250 today
Tracking: Definitely yes
Keep up the good work everyone!!!
