Mornin' gents.
Funny (and sometimes scary) are the stories of cottonmouths climbing in boats and attacking tubers. Growing up fishing in Oklahoma, we had cottonmouths in almost all waters. Almost always fished from shore. Never waded unless in moving water. Very territorial snakes. Blows my mind when hearing stories of people noodling for catfish or gigging frogs at night.
Happy humping and be OP ;-)

Good Morning. I don't do snakes and that's all I have to say about that. Huge pain spike yesterday after driving to acupuncture. My driving radius is shrinking. Worst shape I have been in for over a year. She was able to knock it down a bit. Made it through the day on Norco, which was wonderful, until I tried gluten free pizza dough and watched the stinkin' dodgers win. That was painful. Hopefully the Astros will restore order to the universe tonight.
Off to see the Nurse Practitioner at the Pain Dr's office this morning. My expectations are quite low. Onboarding interview for a second case assessment this afternoon.0 -
Good Morning!
Connie regals stories about how she met a cottonmouth while swimming as a little girl. I was lucky swimming, but I don't know how I was so lucky to never have been bitten by a copperhead with as many as I've seen and/or killed.
First of the month today. Ugh!
First use of hot tub tonight. Yeah!!
Have a great day!0 -
Gotta love a 7 game series.Really sorry about your pain Bill.
I use to kill some rattlesnakes but mostly leave mother nature alone that way. Did find a Gobi pit viper once in Mongolia. This was the snake that horrified Roy Chapman Andrews when he had 100s in his campsite in the Gobi. Roy was the real life model for the movie character Indiana Jones . "Dinosaurs of the Flaming Cliffs" is a good read about some of Roy's real life adventures. We only had one pit viper and not in camp so let him be.0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Had a lot of fun going door-to-door with the grandkinds yesterday. The little guy, Andrew, a month shy of 2, walked the whole way. I think he will be another hiker in the family.
I really enjoyed the vegetarian chili my DDIL served for supper. I asked her for the recipe and she showed me an empty can. That had me laughing. But now I need to look up the nutritional informatio on Nalley's Vegeterian Chili.0 -
Late check-in. Dental cleaning this morning, and hygienist spent more energy haranguing me about flossing than she did cleaning.
Had a great paddling adventure yesterday, despite higher water levels. Wildlife did not include snakes. Instead we had pheasants, ducks, herons and a not so lucky coyote that a hunter was dragging out of the woods when we got to the end of the trip. (Oh, and a floating upside down beaver who was many days long gone). Pretty scenery though, yellow or brown leafed trees amid the bare ones and the pines, and lots of bright red berry bushes everywhere. Paddled up a side river looking for King Philip's Rock, a giant boulder where the natives used to meet, but couldn't find it. Not one house the whole trip. Refreshing to get out like that.
Bill, hope you find some solution to those back issues.0
