August Competition

It's quiet around here lately, so I thought I would throw up a little competitions for us to try and challenge/encourage us to push a little harder. I always do better with a little friendly competition and I'm hoping you guys will join me.

It's summer, but August is also the time we I start thinking about how quickly the summer goes by. So for August I want to encourage everyone to get outside and enjoy what last of summer we have. So rack up some minutes of time out in the sun and let's see who spends the most time outside.

1) Post saying you are participating.
2) Log your outdoors activities (can be walking, running, biking, sports, whatever as long as it's outside!)
3) Post here every couple days with a summary of your outdoor activities.
4) I will keep a running tally of the total minutes we spend outside and we will see who can get the highest.

Cheer each other on, *friendly* smack talk is encouraged.

    That sounds fun. Do you want just the amount of time we are active outdoors? I will be spending a lot of time out doing things like riding an atv and camping and picnics....

    Today I did 1:55 of outdoor activity. Walking to work and home from work.

    Whoever is joining us on this, I would recommend posting some times by early Sunday morning. I'm going to be away from the computer Sunday afternoon - Thursday evening. Going camping. So will update the scoreboard before I leave, then once I get back.

    August 1st 70 minutes biking and walking

  • I will look out the window as I work out...lol! Its 110 degrees here and miserable!

    Sorry I have been busy and not had chance to see this. I would like to join in.

    On Saturday I went for a 14k walk which took 3 hours and 24 minutes.

  • Sorry I only get on here on mondays really but I had a walk round Greenwich park on Saturday for 1hr.

    Planning a 16k on Saturday 17th.

    Aug 7- 126 minutes. Did a 16 mile bike ride plus a short walk

    Aug 9 - I am guessing 45 minutes. Camping with the grandkids and went on 4 short walks

    Aug 10- 45 minutes a 2 mile hike

    Aug 12 - 102 minutes. Walked/jogged 6.2 miles
  • ok, this week

    Monday - 30mins

    Wednesday - 30 minutes

    Friday - 30 minutes

    Sunday - 3 hrs
