It's the 15th!!
Every month, about this time, I think it's time to think about your UAC/MFP journey. Where are you in that journey?
Too many people focus on only ONE goal...gross weight loss! Now it's time to consider some non-scale victories (NSV).
Here is why...0 -
When you take our thoughtful UAC values seriously, some people become frustrated that they are not losing 'weight' fast enough. A better question is 'What is my gross weight composition." You may be much healthier and have more muscle and less fat, but your gross weight is the same.
My ongoing NSV is that for my age, I am very flexible; have good cardio/strength; and my clothes fit well.

What are you happy about?
or
What are your NSVs?
Best wishes, Rick

@RangerRickL I love that preface -- for my age---. I too have those same thoughts. I can remember at some heavy point in my 40s saying it is ok that I join Americans in middle age obesity. Who cares if I stop skiing.
So glad that I came to my senses!! - at 61 can cycle and ski and have decent muscle tone -for my age.
Today is our holiday luncheon. Did Zumba again this morning. If I eat some calories back, so be it as long as I don't go off the deep end. Don't want to use a pass day today. Tomorrow is a major family event and a planned pass day.2 -
Finally got a climb to 2000 in. Would you believe I lost 3 pounds doing it? Probably water weight. Heh, beer weight. I had my layers more or less right. I wore mittens instead of gloves and I had these chemical hand warmer things inside my mittens. Worked good. I was more or less warm. Skin by my eyes was cold. I thought about wearing goggles even had some with me. Didn't wear them though.
The hitch in the whole get along. I go to take a drink at my 2000 check point. My camel back was frozen. No water for me.
I still got enough energy to go see Buddy. So it is going to be me an him for some belt walking. That little guy's laughter is utterly captivating.5 -

Sick day/vacation day. All rolled up into one crappy day. However, I did walk on the treadmill for 45 minutes and logged my food and was under. I can’t wait to be 100% healthy again!3
-
yes x 3. Walk this afternoon and 30 minutes low impact aerobics. This was not the best day, nutritionally. Craving sugars...so passed on healthy choices to have sufficient calories for a sugar fest. Not a good idea...but works for today!
NSV - I am thankful to be healthy and taking no medications.
On another note which does relate to the scale...reached my ultimate goal this week and will see how I fare with maintenance in my ideal weight range for the next couple of weeks in December. Perhaps Christmas, New Year's Eve (my DH's birthday), New Year's Day and my oldest son's birthday the following week will be a testament to my ability to adjust, as needed, for continued success. Joyous success to all who share this journey! I am right beside you for the rest of the month, which will be a challenge given all of the upcoming year-end celebratory events. Kindest regards.2 -
yes x3
lovely walk in daylight! It was so nice to be home early enough to watch the sunset over the mountains.2 -

I really dislike my long 12 hour day when I have to come home and shovel the driveway. I am hoping next week Fri will be my early Friday. NSV. I put those 20 year olds to shame with my shoveling capabilities.2 -

Did fine at luncheon and afterwards. Sometimes the leftovers we take back to the office can be worse than the meal. Tracked and under calories. Zumba in the morning.
Tomorrow's plan is sleep late, 3 mile gorge hike at the arboretum, errands and big holiday party. Will track up to the party, then will enjoy seasonal food and sweets.2 -

Thought I was going to need a pass day today. My sister arrived, having driven down from England, bringing her lovely little dog with her. Wasn't sure how she (the dog) was going to integrate with my not-very-well socialised medium-sized dogs - it is still a work in progress but hopefully things will settle down soon. With all the uncertainty about when they would get here and how it would go I'd planned a quick but not entirely healthy supper of steak and frites (I would normally have celeriac chips, which I now prefer, but cba to make them). Despite this, and the wine, I still managed to track when everyone had gone to bed and surprisingly was just under my goal. So 3 Yes for me after all.
NSV - I didn't feel quite such a fat unfit old lump beside my sister as I did last time I saw her in October. Still a long way to go...3 -
15-December-2017

December 15
Exercised?: Yes. 9.9km in 75 mins (Round outside of Brisbane)
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Early morning walk before breakfast. Across Brisbane river, past Southbank, over Storey bridge and back to hotel. Very warm. Looked like I had just been swimming when I got back to hotel.
Late flight home, then tail up work before bed round 1:00am.2 -
It was a tough day but made it through with yes x 3. ✅ ✅ ✅ I lifted weights and did some rowing machine before the doctor appointment started to make sure I fit it in in case it was a repeat of the day before. I barely stayed under calories because of grabbing food while out on the go. I really need to go to the store.
Until the last couple of days , my NSVs have been finally sleeping through the night and just feeling better as I move throughout the day. With all my joint issues, I’ve only had two spots that are giving me a twinge but able to work through them.

My mum, sister and brother in law fly back to England tonight. I’m sad but I get to see them in four months time, so not all bad. I miss my family, I love when they visit.
NSV: I have energy to walk, walk, walk. Some days I’m like Forrest Gump and just keep going. Hubby says I’ve never met a walk I didn’t like.
Pass Day 3…
1 -
Well, sadly have to take my second pass today. Did great on exercise, but too much eating and drinking, considerably over on calories, and tracking crashed late in the evening. LOL
Day before, 14th, I did manage to squeak by and get it all tracked, but tomorrow is the big family birthday dinner, we'll see how it works out.
I have been very pleased with progress so far, largely because I got started in mid October to be well established in my new, healthier patterns before the birthday/Christmas/New Years onslaught. I am on track to be below 250 for New Years, and be well established in new patterns in the year ahead, then be at goal weight by next Christmas. (252.4 right now, on the way to 220)
One of my best indicators has
been taking up 5 notches on the belt, so far! Definitely losing the fat gut.
It is a marathon, not a sprint.2 -
Pass day #20
