Thanks!! I had great fun and won gold in my division (there was only one other person in that division) and lost to a blue belt on points in absolute. Really happy with how I did and super proud of my team who smashed the competition! We came second overall even though we are much smaller than most clubs.
My division fight was over so fast. She tried to judo throw me and turned her back but hesitated as the grip wasn't quite right. I thought "You are not going to throw me" (concussion memories) and squashed her down. Hooks in and arms in place for rear naked choke. She held off for a bit and we rolled around but I could hear my coach in my head saying "consistent pressure, don't let go" and she taped. Coach was there shouting for me, but that phrase was back from a training session about how to complete the chokes.
Now I'm keen to fight in Feb as well. That means my fitness needs to be better as there will be altitude affects. I also want to drop down to my original weight class again as there are more people so I get more fights. 6 kgs in 2 months is definitely doable and gives me the extra motivation I need to get back into good nutrition and regular training. They guys are also competing so we will all train together through the holiday!6 -
