Hello,

Is Strong Lifts good for an obese female? I am starting a 500 cal deficit in diet. Macros are at 40 30 40.

Advice is much appreciated. Thx.

Anyone can do Strong Lifts. And it's great to incorporate lifting while you are losing weight. It may be harder in a deficit but it's definitely do-able.
Have you lifted before or do you have someone who can show you correct form on all the lifts?

put it this way - there's nothing i know of about obesity that would stop you doing sl. and you're already strong, compared with people who aren't :) just think of how much weight you want to lose and then give yourself credit for the fact that you 'squat' that much every time you get up and down from a chair.

i don't know if i can promise it will help you lose weight. i did get into lifting because of that 'muscle burns more calories!' notion, but for me it goes better if i just do the strength work for the sake of the strength, and don't count on it to take care of the excess-fat thing.
