Hi everyone happy new year hope this year is good year for all of us. Just want to ask a question am breastfeeding my 6month old baby girl she is on solids to and has an extra bottle of formula at night am starting my diet today and I wanna loss about 13Ib do you think at 12000 calories a day will effect my milk supply ???

1200 is a pretty low goal, even for women who aren't breast feeding. Why don't you start at whatever your maintenance calories are and see what kind of progress you make just letting milk production create your deficit. Then slowly work your way into a bigger deficit from there if you want to.

Make sure you set realistic expectations, I know 13 lbs feels like a ton of weight, but it really isn't that much, you should be aiming for 0.5-1lb of loss a week with that size goal.

I am breastfeeding too! I had my calories set at 1250, set from before I was nursing - although admittedly I eat more than that sometimes. I lost 5 pounds this last month - which seemed like kind of a lot to me. I am going to change my calories to closer to 1800 to be realistic.

I am not sure how tall you are but I personally would not go below 1800 a day while breastfeeding unless the child is over a year and you are potentially ok with supply going so low they have to ween.
