Fitbit Calorie Adjustment

I do not have negative calories set on mfp. Usually, MFP gives me maybe 400ish calories daily from "exercise" which is really just my steps for the day because I do not exercise.. so, should I eat back the calories that MFP give me from my fitbit sync? Or is it not accurate? I have the charge hr

It is up to you and depends on your goals - are you wanting to lose or maintain? I don't eat my exercise/steps calories unless I am especially hungry and really need to dip into them. Some people choose to eat half, or, if in maintainence or having a special occasion, all. It's a personal choice.

The fitbit calorie adjustment is reported by many to be more accurate than if they logged the same amount of exercise through MFP. But if you're looking to lose weight it's good to assume it's calculating high, just in case.

Also it is good to make sure your settings are accurate re: sedentary or lightly active. This will help decide how many calories to eat per day plus how many steps are included in your day before earning more calories.

MFP made an estimate of your daily burn based on your guess of Activity level. Very rough figure, 4 levels.

MFP is trying to correct that estimate with better data from a device actually seeing how much you move daily. Almost infinite levels adjusted daily.

If you trust MFP for the rough estimate in the first case, why not the trust MFP for the better corrected estimate in the 2nd case.

And because of what happens end of day (read the FAQ 2nd page for details if desired), better to use Sedentary setting and just take the adjustment.
