Welcome to all new and returning UAC team members! I’m @RangerRickL. Our co-leader is @craigo3154 he is an amazingly helpful and knowledgeable person. We live on opposite sides of the Earth. Craig is in Australia and I live near Chicago in the northern central part of the USA. I spent part of my winter in sunny Phoenix Arizona where I am right now.
Please read the UAC rules listed under the headings above.
Best wishes! Rick3 -
I am proud to present to you our January 2018, Winners Circle qualifiers. To be in the Winners Circle, they must have succeeded in completing their daily goals of eating less than their chosen caloric intake limit; exercised at least 20 minutes or more per day; and tracked ALL of their food and caloric beverages daily. They reported their results either daily or no less than every 3 Days.1 -

Congratulations to all of the January Winners! Well done, you should all be very proud of your achievement
I got a bit lost in January, so hoping Feb will work out better.
Working with what life has dealt me, I had some sort of infection/flu yesterday, so today (1st Feb for me here in New Zealand) I have only just managed to tick the boxes.
Tracked everything - YES!
Exercised 20 min? YES only just - luckily it was a 15 min walk to deliver my sisters cat to the cattery, then a 15 min walk to work from her house.
Within my daily goal? YES!
Phew! OK now I am going to set a daily reminder to log into the community board to check in. xx all the best for February everyone!

I have noticed my neighbors all outside using their phones and internet. Hmmm... maybe it's not just my house. As I can pass myself off as a cute old whack a doodle I got the town supervisor to stop by the house. Yes indeed he too had no phone service but he had it in his car so he went down the street lol comes back to me and goes I honestly thought you were crazy but nope I will get to the bottom of this. I am so excited!!! Tonight should be a walking night but just in case I will exercise on lunch. Till later.

Exercised?: Yes. 6km in 45 mins (hills)
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Late walk (after dinner). Pretty quiet day.
Too far under on calories today be comfortable. More ice-cream before bed.
Congratulations to all who made the Winners circle in January. Hard when it's both a long month and for most of the members it's cold.
Congratulations too to all who kept going in January, even after the fourth pass day. This is really what UAC is about.
Each month I post my goals for the month. It helps keep me focused. They are often the same month to month, but it is what I aspire to maintain.
Personal goals for February:- Be in winners circle (track everything, keep under budget, 20+ mins exercise per day, no more than 3 pass days).
- Stay between 64kg and 70kg (full maintenance maintenance trying not to go too low but allow it to bounce up a bit too. 70kg is still well inside the normal BMI range for me.).
- Stay honest (even if it puts me out of the circle for the month) and continue past failings (forgive mistakes and keep moving forward).
- Encourage others where possible.
Last month:- Be in winners circle (track everything, keep under budget, 20+ mins exercise per day, no more than 3 pass days). Success - All days tracked and under, activity every day.
- Stay between 64kg and 75kg (full maintenance maintenance trying not to go too low but allow it to bounce up a bit too. Feeling fine spending the entire of last month well under 70kg, seems now like for me it should be healthy and sustainable. Still have 75kg as my upper limit as it is still just in normal BMI range for me.). Success - Got as low as 64.5kg, but mostly round the 65.5kg for most of the month.
- Stay honest (even if it puts me out of the circle for the month) and continue past failings (forgive mistakes and keep moving forward). Success - No failures I can recall in this area.
- Encourage others where possible. Not as much as I would like - Remained positive, but finding it hard to make time to read and encourage more among my schedule. I also run another challenge here on MFP, but UAC is still my favourite.

@5738_Cassiel. Glad you posted anyway.
UAC is not easy. Especially when starting out. What is important is to continue to try.
Learn from today and do better tomorrow.

Exercise: Yes. (38 min HIIT, 45 min walking, brisk pace)
Calories: Yes.
Tracikng: Yes.
I want to start going to a fitness center. Problem is there is not a decent place where I live. Lots of places focused on marital arts and kickbox etc. with incompetent or no fitness equipment. I fear at the end of this search I will end up enrolling into boxing or karate for the sake of exercise.
I'm bored of swimming and the Turkish govt's armed intervention in Syria made country sports more perilious than usual. Too much ID checks and interogations to take pleasure in a walk in the country or to go for a hike and it seems for the life of me I can't follow fitness programs from videos at home.5 -
