Hi Everyone,
I've been living SCD (specific carbohydrate diet) for 4 years now for my Crohn's disease. I'm trying my hand a vegetarianism. I've been doing this for 2 weeks now and feel GREAT! No Flares:)
But it's a big adjustment and I'm concerned I'm not getting all of the nutrition I need given my grain free addition to the mix.
Any suggestions or concerns? I'll take all you got:)

Thank you
Candy

    Hi Candy,

I have been on the SCD for 5 years as a vegetarian, although my diagnosis was for SIBO. I have bloodwork done every year which includes vitamin panels to help me keep an eye on things. In the last 7-8 months I have not been watching as closely what I eat and added back in some foods I should have left out plus I became lazy about cooking. This caused me to gain weight, which is why I am here on MFP! I am hoping by monitoring everything more carefully, I will get back to a healthier body.

Have you continued eating vegetarian since your last post? I hope you are feeling better!

If you want to share info, recipes and whatnot, let me know!
