Fitbit sync time

Is there a setting I can set so at midnight it will sync and show the calorie adjustment based on that time? The last sync last night was at 11 and it is still overestimated. It showed the adjustment based on 2543 calories projected and at midnight it was actually 2268. It's really not that big of a deal because I was in bed and not going to eat those calories anyway, but I'm anal and want to see the true numbers.

You never will.
You can do the math to figure out pretty close how much in the green you need to leave your goal, so the next morning on first device sync and MFP correction - you end up at goal.
Fitbit only syncs when the new daily burn is 100 higher than prior sync.
The evening hit-the-couch/bed-time is burning BMR level calories, and that's what Fitbit will report the next morning or before midnight if it gets another sync in.
But MFP for it's estimate from last sync was using BMR x 1.25 for remaining time, for Sedentary activity level.
So if you look up your BMR (in MFP Tools), and know when you become sitting/sleeping for evening, just do the following.
BMR / 24 x hrs left till midnight x 0.25 = amount to leave in the green.
So say it's the following hitting the couch at 8:30 pm, and bed at 10 pm.
1600 / 24 hrs x 3.5 hrs x 0.25 = 58 calories to leave in the green.
Now, the only other catch here is - the time of the prior sync before your last eating to goal.
If it was over 1 hr ago, about to get another update probably.
If it was 5 min ago, then good numbers.
This whole effect is also why it's recommended to set MFP to Sedentary and just take the big adjustments that occur with actually being much more active.
Unless you go to bed at midnight or close enough.
You are likely set higher than Sedentary for that large of a 1 hr adjustment.0 -
Thank you for the detailed response! I actually had my time zone here wrong (I really thought I checked before posting) and now it seems to be working perfectly.
I am right on the border line of sedentary and lightly active and trying to decide which to use.... Mentally I think I'd rather have possible negative adjustments than large ones everyday. I'll get a better idea of that when I have one of my work and no gym days next week. This past week hasn't been completely normal.
