Looking for encouragement

I'm 70, but don't feel it. I am slowed down by a bum leg that was severely broken about 16 years ago and is painful. My weight has shot up again over the holidays and I'm back to 250. I want to lose 75 pounds so that means I have to stick to my diet.

I'm not following any specific plan, just counting calories and trying to stay under 1600 every day.

When the weather breaks, I'mgoing to strat walking with my dogs. Since I live in the country with few neighbors I've got plenty of places to walk. The exercise will help my arthritis and my dogs will enjoy going with me. I've got 3 German Shepherds and 1 Beagle-Bassett mix. My dogs aren't allowed to run loose so they'll be on leash with me, even if we do live out in the country.

I'm looking for encouragement to help me reach my goals. Right now, my goal is 235 by March first. That means losing 15 pounds during February. I think I can do it.
