Trying this. Sorry no nutritional information, at least not yet.

    Cheater version of Swedish Meatballs:

    1 bag frozen meatballs
1 large can cream of mushroom soup
1 packet of lipton beefy onion soup mix
    2 C milk

Put in crock pot low 6-8 hrs and serve over cooked egg noodles or mashed potatoes.

Calories on this, if you use 1% milk, aren't horrible for a 5 meatball serving. HOWEVER, at over 1400mg sodium, this gets a thumbs down for repeat. (I ate only 3 meatballs and sodium was 1433 mg!) Burst that macro.

    Crunchy chicken

    Cooked shredded chicken
    4oz of celery
    one small red onion
    3Tbsp of dijon mustard
    1.5 Tbsp of olive oil

Place shredded chicken on a pan with coconut oil, to make it a little bit crispy. Season with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Mix mustard, olive oil, celery and onion, and add the chicken.

It's not my recipe, just something I found online and just had as my dinner. You can add a lot of other things: mushrooms, sweet potatoes, ripe plantains, BACON!!!!

    Roasted Squash

    Ingredients:

    1 medium to large squash

    Directions:

Cut the squash in half, or quarters if it is very large
Place skin-side-down in a roasting pan with lid (or cover with foil)
Bake at 400F for 1 hour or so, until it is very soft, or less if you like it firmer

Enjoy hot out of the oven with a little butter and salt and pepper, or allow to cool and remove the skin to be able to use the squash in purees, baking, etc.

I used 1 cup of pureed squash in my chili today :D I think my chili recipe is in this thread somewhere.

Low Sodium Secret Agent Spaghetti Sauce

    Ingredients:

1 can no salt added diced tomatoes
1 can no salt added tomato paste
2 cans no salt added crushed tomatoes
    2 cups celery, diced
    2 cups onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced (I use my microplane grater on fresh garlic)
1/4 cup fresh or frozen parsley, minced
    Spices to taste

    Secret Agents:
1 cup cauliflower, 1 cup broccoli, 1/2 cup carrots, cooked separately and pureed

Cook the onions, celery and garlic in 1/2 cup water in a LARGE saucepan until the onions are translucent. In the meantime, mix your tomato paste and diced tomatoes into the pureed Secret Agents. Once the cooking veggies are ready, add the paste/diced/Secret Agent mix and stir well. Allow to simmer, then add both cans of crushed tomatoes and stir well. Bring back up to a simmer (will look more like a burp as the air escapes, so be careful, keep the lid kind of hovering when you stir). Add the spices you prefer. If you really want some, now would be the time to also add a very little salt. Place on low heat, enough that it still bubbles a little, and allow to cook for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Will stick if the heat is too high so keep that in mind. The nice thing about this recipe is if you puree it, you can hide all kinds of veggies in there. :)

OMG there are so many amazing recipes on this thread! Am going to have to start preparing meals instead of opening cans!

Has this thread been continued to the "cold weather recipes that will warm you up" which is pinned on the group page?

It has as of today... dw 12/9.
