Fitbit Accuracy

I am a new fitbit and MFP member. How accurate are the calories "earned" with your fitbit? I feel at times I am earning ALOT of extra calories for doing very little. I am curious as to who EATS their calories burned back. If you do not eat calories burned back then tell me how well you are doing with your weight loss.

While waiting for the feedback (I'll mention there are already topics covering this if you search), let me ask a question.
On what basis do you have a good idea of what the calorie amounts should be to compare to for getting sense you are getting a lot for little?
Because most people are only familiar with diets - they tried or saw or know someone that did 1200 daily type diets - but in the scheme of things they have no idea of that is high or low or what, unless it's mentioned that's minimum.
Most never did logging of what they used to eat to get a sense of how much they had to eat to basically maintain the higher weight and many times the lower activity level.
I will mention the FAQ gives the specifics as to accuracy potential depending on device - which you didn't mention and has a big bearing with what workouts you do and your daily life. (there are many models)0
