Steph, I love how, even after working in fashion retail for all these years, you can still find reasons to shop. LOVE IT! I did a little of that this week, too. I need a bigger closet! A few weeks ago I was doing some sorting, and brought a pile of old, unused closes of Dh's to him, asking if we could get rid of those. He asked me if I needed more room in the closet for my stuff ... which was a very legitimate question. Oy. Quite a difference from my early years, when I hardly had anything, for sure. (we were WELL below the poverty line when I was growing up)
So, it's my birthday! Yay! Last night my Dd17 had the congregation sing to me (which she was REALLY nervous about, but she did it, and I'm so proud of her!), and several people gave me gifts and cards. One woman (my drummer) made me this amazing shadowbox with a drawing she did (she's a AMAZING artist) of 2 little girls laughing, one white, one black (she's African American), and a pretty verse about friendship. It's sooooo thoughtful! Did I tell you what my meeting room did for me on Thursday? I can't remember. Traditionally, my favorite part of my birthday, though, is reading the fb posts. To think that ALL those people took a moment out of their day to think of me and reach out is beyond beautiful.

DFIL still in telemetry unit. Aspirating fluid today and more tests. Hoping he comes home tomorrow (we'll see). Home inspection at our home today for new buyer. Not expecting any surprises.....but then again!

My weekend can be summed up this way. Any time a huge upset was in the making in the tournament, I was watching Lady Bird, at Costco, having dinner that Cecilia booked with friends or with my parents. Two of those are deeply regretted.0 -

Kelly, that is a swollen carpus (or wrist joint). It could be traumatic, but is also the most common joint to swell up with lyme disease or anaplasmosis (another tick born disease). Time to go the vet and get it checked out. If you can get a rectal temp at home, it will be helpful to your vet.
Skip, can you sneak some PVW into DFIL? That will cure him. Hope he is home soon.

The man at the table next to me is having crab cake eggs benedict and it looks amazing! And he's skinny lol. Me, fruit, greek yogurt, chicken sausage and a small aspergus mush omlette.
Then I'm off to set up and have rest of day free.
Great visit with my cousin here yesterday!

Going to be a perfect week in Houston. 80 and sunny the rest of the week. Gotta soak it up. When I’m back next time it will probably be full on summer. Snowing at home today.
Have my usual Monday morning conf calls from the hotel before I head To the store. New store managers arrived last night and today to help out. It is always so nice to get to know them all better.0 -

My hand hurts - a lot - when I do anything beyond its very limited capabilities. Otherwise everything is fine. I'm mostly bored, because I can't do anything.
I loved crab cakes, the year I was stationed in Maryland - and softshell crab sandwiches (in season). They catch a lot of tasty Dungeness crab out here, but, for some reason, crab cakes are never on the menu.0 -

- Breakfast with the ROMEOs this morning.
- I remember a motorcycle trip coming down the Delmarva peninsula and the Outer Banks. We ate crabcakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Happy Birthday Princess Lisa. May all your wishes come true today. You are my inspiration.
- Get well Cooper. It's no fun hopping around on 3 paws.
- Happiness is being in 80° weather when it is snowing at home.
- Best wishes for DFIL Skip. It will be nice to have the home inspection behind you. My word of advise. If they bring up some nit-picky thing that isn't a huge amount of money, pay it and smile. Get it behind you.

Funny story, because I can only laugh. My freights not here for set up. It is in Baltimore though so there's that. Oh my. I need a martini. Dear freight carrier, at 8am I was'being nice, patient, etc. At 11am still confident you'll come thru. Please don't let me down. It won't be purddy.0

Mary - great excuse to go enjoy a crab cake and a martini!
SGM Dave has a great suggestion too - "soft-shell crab sandwich" - trick with this, you cannot look at it - you just gotta believe that the legs sticking outside of the bun - are decedent! TRUST me. Not a point friendly adventure - but an adventure just the same.
