Hey! I just joined this group hoping to meet some fellow people who have been using zombie run! I have always had problems with motivation and couldn't believe how much fun these were! I am planning on doing a 5K run in october so I chose the 5k training and its been going well so far. Any tips or similar stories out there?

I'm kind of in the same boat. I started the Zombies Run 5k app in the spring, and I stupidly tried to do it while I was wearing cheap hiking boots, and I completely screwed up my left foot.
But everything is on the mend now! I bought GOOD running shoes, and I've been out walking/light running almost every day with Season One of the main Zombies, Run app. I should finish Season One this week, and then I plan on re-starting the 5k app next week.
My goal (and newest addition to my bucket list) is to run a 5k next year.
Good luck to you, Runner 5!!!0 -
Hello,
I’m going to start week 7 day after tmrw. W6D3 is today. I also have a 5k & obstacle course in October that I am preparing for. I originally started on the Zen labs C25K app & then @ week 3 hurt my foot (improper running shoes & running daily). I was forced to take a few weeks off & then started the app again, but I just couldn’t deal w/it. It was so boring & it felt like I was going backwards, but I wanted to run. So, I came across the Zombies Run app & was hooked. It’s very entertaining, you don’t hear the same things all of the time & truly does get your running. I think the only advise I can give is what I read before on a forum. Don’t automatically think you have to repeat a week until you try the new week. You may surprise yourself. So far I have surprised myself & trust me if I could run, anyone can. One other piece of advice & I can’t stress this enough. Invest is some good running shoes, you don’t want to find out the hard way what improper shoes can do to you.

Welcome new runner 5!
I agree with the previous posters- invest in running shoes! I was giving myself really bad leg paid by running in crappy sneakers because I didn't want to invest in the shoes until I was able to run a mile...I shouldn't have waited so long.
My other advice, is to really push yourself on the free form runs. Those are where I found that I really pushed myself and saw how much I was able to accomplish. Also, when running don't feel like you have to go fast, because if your sprinting its going to be a lot harder to run for longer. I run only at about 4.5 miles per hour but its the only way I know that I will be able to run more than a mile, is if I pace myself. I am hoping that speed will just come naturally the more that I run.
Feel free to friend me, I have been doing the Zombies Run since April and completed the 5K training in June. I blogged for most of my 5K training to record my progress.
The app is great too keep you motivated, and has worked better than the boring old C25K apps. For the past three-four years I have always started C25K in the spring and gave up around weeks 2 or 3, just because I was bored with it. This app has been one of my best work-out motivators ever.
Best of luck!0
