Been taking days off to keep from losing them, have maxed out number they will pay me for when I leave in 75 days; gonna have to work 44 of them, but I'm not counting.
Came back yesterday, nothing had been done on my desk and they have not gotten anyone to replace me, 22 months ago I told them I was leaving and that it would take about 2 years to fully train someone, well it will not be my problem.
It has been warmer here for a few days yet arthritis seems worst in hands and joints.
Lee, enjoy your day off.
Dave, don't overuse hand.
Mike, great loss.
Bill, they tell me pain management starts in head; I keep telling them it ends in joints and has faded before getting to joints.
Envious of Bob and consistent weather,
Enjoy the Day,

Mornin' men. Packing for trip tomorrow to PA to visit DS & fam a few days. Planning to do a 3-day river trip with them sometime this summer, before DGD goes off to college. Now just visiting and catching up.
Sam, sounds like they think you're disposable there at work. Wait till it hits them.0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
The cast is gone, but it has been replaced by a removable plastic brace that I will wear for another five weeks. My physical therapy, for the next two weeks, consists of trying to touch my finger tips with my thumb - ten reps, three times a day. I can take the brace off when I am just sitting around the house, and that is great. I have to be very conscious of not using my thumb to grasp anything. "No pinching motion for five weeks," was the admonition.
Stranger - and a bit disturbing for me - was the result of the usual height and weight check when I signed in to see the doctor. For the first time in several years, they actually checked my height, rather than just asking me what it is. To my surprise, I am 1.5 inches shorter than I have been since my sophomore year in high school. I'm shrinking. No wonder my waist seems thicker at a given weight, than it used to; the fat is vertically compressed. Signs of aging, I guess, but might also be the consequence of my abandoning the gym and strength training a couple years ago. Guess it's time to get back into that routine, too.0 -
Good Morning!
Dave, sounds like you are making great progress with the hand. Maybe not so much with the height? I know that my height has gone down 1/2 inch in the 8 years since I hit 50.
Bill, sounds like things are going better with your pain management? Still keeping you in prayer.
Have a great day!0 -
Good Morning! Sam, I don't think they plan these transitions well due to budget and denial. Dave, I refuse to acknowledge any loss of height. I round up. Steve, the back is stable and I am back rebuilding strength & flexibility and working on handling the journey a bit better. The knee issues are a bit of a side effect of the last 6+ months of lessening activity and weight gain. Back into the spare room to try and sort through stuff so we can clear much of it out to make room for my son's return. I am also "thrilled" to go in for my preliminary visit today to schedule my colonoscopy since it has been 10 years. Joy abounds.0
