Week 3 up early. I will be a very busy Bacon tomorrow.

Repeat o' the blurb:

It's Active April folks.
Time to get moving.
No need to make your "heart gargle in your throat." Unless that's what you're into.
Active April is about making your goal an improvement in your fitness. As Elizabeth Benton always says, "Whatever constitutes an improvement for YOU. Do that."

So whether you want to train for a 5k or 10k, start HIITing your head off, or just start exercising, period, it's all good.
If your exercise is already on-point, but you'd like to increase your daily NEAT burn, that's a great target as well. (What is NEAT, consult this thread from which I have been inspired: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10610953/neat-improvement-strategies-to-improve-weight-loss/p1)

There will be a sticky at the top of the group with a list of the weekly threads should our thread get buried in this (awesome) group.

Go ahead and post your goals.
Update us daily and receive encouragement and support from your compatriots in the challenge.
Go get it!

I intended to clean today as we had inclement weather but I woke up a bit sick so my husband beat me to the chores. With exercise I got almost 11k steps in today. Tomorrow I’ll amp it up back at work.

It's halfway through the month and we're more or less on track for our oddly-specific goal. The goal was to burn 28,882 'active calories' this month, and we're at 14,119 as of this morning. The weather is supposed to improve later this week so we'll be able to do some more walking outside which will be nice.

Goals met last week were 3 out of 5. Hemming my dress for my son's wedding took 5 hours (forgot how much I hate rolled hems on chiffon). Bowling last night was the end of the season so I'm going to have to replace that activity. If the weather ever dries and warms up, I'll be biking and working in the yard for a LOT more activity.

Very active weekend, but up at 4 am both days, so I decided I would skip the gym this morning in favor of a little more sleep.

A little disappointed to discover my daily step average is about 3,500 daily this month. I've been shooting for 6,000.
Still better than before, but I'm going to try to ramp it up for the remainder of the month.
    I think 6,000 is reasonableable.

Sat ended up being about 9k steps of NEAT. Sun was 6k steps though I'm not sure how as I was slothy.

Tired today. Not meeting the Nagbit's prompts. It's cold and my stomach is being a pill.
I'll get my 6k. Supposed to do strength today. I will it to happen. I better get started.

I forgot to check in last week but I did well. I did several hikes with my daughter throughout the week. Last Tuesday I toured an abandoned lunatic asylum which was a nice little walk. We had some really hot days which was nice. Today it is snowing again so that's not great. I might try to work on adding back strength training since I'm probably going to be stuck inside.

Finally some good weather! Was able to get outside and walk the neighborhood today. Downloaded the MyWalkingApp and am really interested to map out my usual walks and try to change them up over the warmer months. 7500 steps in a day is definitely doable for me. ^_^

So tired!!! I got over 6k yesterday but cheated with a walk vid. I tried to do better today but I slept awful last night so we'll see.

Yesterday I was able to get nearly 10k NEAT steps and several flights of stairs at work but the anniversary dinner likely erased some of that progress. Today I got about 9k before exercise. The next two days may be much less with all day meetings. Maybe I’ll pace at the back of the room!

Cardio day yesterday, so I managed over 11k steps. Could have done better. I'll try to obey the Nagbit better today. Keeping NEAT up is harder when in a deficit. Hence my effort to keep it up. I tend to want to hibernate. Strength today. Maybe a short walk after just to get some tan on my paleness.

Monday I did manage to do a strength training video. Yesterday I hiked. Today it's supposed to be nice and warm so hopefully a hike. Tomorrow cold again so maybe more strength.

Between my long work days, a freelance project I shouldn't have taken on, and a field trip with my kids yesterday...I am exhausted. I was so tired Monday I almost walked out the door without shoes on, got in the wrong side of the car to drive, and sat at my desk for 3 minutes waiting for my computer to boot up until I realized it was still in my bag and not on my dock.

So...I am taking this week off of the gym.

Normally, I stand and walk in place at my desk because I have the kind that raises up and down so I can take calls sitting or standing. Great, right? But the last few days, as much as I have been doing this, I'm finding it difficult just to get to my new step goal every day.

Spring is so frustrating! It's 71 degrees and wonderful one day, 41 degrees and snowing the next. SMH... I love walking outside, but I don't own anything warm enough for outdoor use to walk when it's 41 degrees. Le Sigh...

I know. It was 80 yesterday. Today it's mid-40s and windy so it feels cooler. Monday it snowed. Madness!

Got my over 6k on strength day. Did some extra pacing while reading and sound counter tricep pushups.
Today is cardio, so I should at least get 10k. I'll be stuck in the car for 1hr going to and from my daughter's game and then I guess I'll pace during to not freeze to death.

Hike in the summer temps yesterday. Today I did a trail run in the winter temps. An embarrassingly slow trail run but I didn't stress fracture anything, twist an ankle, or bust my face open so yay lol

I was right in that the last two days were lower in NEAT activity but I was able to get a two mile dog walk and a three mile run due to the break in weather yesterday. Today was much less active due to my all day meeting but with exercise I still managed 12k steps. Tomorrow is back at the office so many more NEAT steps/stairs are in my future.

    Made over 12k yesterday. :+1:
Made all the Nagbit milestones except 1. I was teaching them something, so y'know...
Strength today. /might sneak a bonus walk. We shall see how things go. Off to snoop the forums and fidget.

Over 12k again. Strength and bonus walk. And inefficiency. But I was dead tired yesterday.
Today just depends. I intend to at least get 6k, if I get a chance to take a walk, then I'll get more but I have a lot of things to do today. Including baking at least 4 dozen cookies, possibly more if no one else volunteered. And a slew of deviled eggs. Plus there's laundry. And my oldest girl's soccer game to get me all anxious over. That burns cals right.

    Anyway, blah blah blah.

Yesterday totaled about 11k NEAT steps on a strength day but diet was out of control so I consider that a fail. I’ll buckle down for the weekend to make up for the slide.

Friday and Saturday I chased around a 4 year old and took a walk... Another active week. Yay

I was able to manage about 16k steps each day of the weekend including a 3 mile run on Saturday. I stayed active but ate terribly. This coming week will focus on diet and NEAT!
