    Today, in the United States, it's Memorial Day. That is a day which is dedicated to the memory of those who have served in the our armed forces since it's birth as an independent nation.
    Many of you are citizens of countries around the world. Does your country have a national holiday for the same purpose? Please share...Thanks. Rick

    @craigo3154 Had to read a bit about ANZAC and the ANZAC biscuit (cookie as we Americans would say). Interesting perspectives on the origins of the ANZAC biscuit or oft referred to "soldier's biscuit."

    @craigo3154 thank you for this wonderful history. I wish your wife speedy recovery. It is a bit stressful when a close family member is not feeling well and you are not around.

    Walked extra long on the beach today to burn enough calories for a healthy Memorial day dessert. Was worth the effort!  Hope everyone had a great day!

    Calories? Over...I would assume so, but I don't know by how much
    Logged? Not everything and not sure of quantities

    Spent the afternoon at one of our son's homes. Nutritionally, poor choices and way too much dessert. This is pass day #3 for me. Will still make an attempt to make Winner's Circle for the month. Wish me luck!!!

    @craigo3154 Thanks for the insights into the ANZAC Day. There have been a number of movies made about the Gallipoli. Like all wars...horrific loss of lives.
