Running is easy(ish), eating better is hard!

Hi. I'm brand new to myfitnesspal. I joined because I'm training for a 1/2 marathon in September (just finished week 2) and want some support and accountability...especially on the eating better part.
I'm SO lucky: I live in a National Monument so running is a joy. My "long runs" right now are only 3 miles, but I've got miles and miles of gorgeous (if a little rocky) trails to access for good cross training in walking/hiking/jogging. Yes, I'm pushing myself for sure. I come home exhausted after my long runs especially. But motivation for the running part has been no problem for me. HOWEVER...I'm a bit of a binge eater, I'm alone a lot out here in the wilderness, and it's really easy for me to fall off the wagon on the eating-better part of my training.
My goals with myfitnesspal are: first, to make sure I'm getting enough calories for my level of exercise so that I don't start a binge out of hungry desperation; and second, to (hopefully) find some support and accountability for my goal...maybe being public about my eating will keep me in line.
Can anyone else relate to this challenge in training?
