Friday was a very special day. My favorite days involve kids and horses. We have had an family staying with us this week from Toronto. Here are a couple of fun photos from yesterday.
This activity is my favorite form of exercise. It does nothing for my cardio nor my strength but it sure is physically and psychologically FUN!!9 -
Quick post to say I'm in chickenpox hell at the moment with my 2 yrold while we have a heatwave. Family first. I'll be back when this is over. (PS think you immunise against it in US. Wish we did in UK too!)7

@am_change When my daughter was a baby it was an option. When she was diagnosed with diabetes it was no longer an option. She got the vaccine. Now I believe it's part of the scheduled shots. Chicken pox are awful. The heat makes it worse. I would live in the bathtub if I got them now in this heat. Good luck!!!1

Ate small portion of the vegetable lasagna I made for lunch for my brother and his wife, just had the melon, not the ham, no bread, no cheese, but had double the salad and only a very small scoop of lemon sorbet.

The heat has let go! 15° C and breezy. Today's walk was a total pleasure and gardening did not make me want to lock myself in the freezer. But I ate more. It felt good but I went over so pass day #1. It's all logged though!3

There was a blood drive at work so I walked over — perfect excuse to get some exercise minutes and steps in AND donate blood. I was getting close to hitting 10,000 steps earlier this evening so I walked 2 laps around the mall (1.16 miles!) before I did my shopping errand. Now I’m at 12,595 steps! 🏃🏻♀️2 -
Ate much higher calories today, but I'm happy with that as I have been under too much this week and needed to fuel up for tomorrow's competition. Logged all the food even when it was the healthiest fuel choice. Mostly eating on the run.
Active rest in the form of kids advanced Jiu Jitsu class. Planned to go and roll with the kids as part of our mentor program but coach was late so he asked me to get them started. He arrived 5 minutes before class ended so I took the whole class.
Bought a new pair of running shoes. Bonus deal is I get 25% off the cost back at the next monthly payment run and for the next 12 months I can earn the other 75% by reaching my weekly activity targets. My insurance has various rewards for healthy living choices!
Evening was a referee course for tomorrow's competition so I'm going to be busy, not just competing! When I did fencing, I was always interested in refing but my coach discouraged me from it everytime. My Jiu Jitsu coach encourages me to try things I'm interested in so now, with him and two others in my club, I'm a qualified ADCC class C referee!
Tomorrow is competition and I'm most excited about the 5-6 year old division. We have a come of boys who are incredible and I can't wait to see how they do in a competition format!2 -
