A little concerned about weight (loss)

So background: I'm 5'7", with my first pregnancy I started at 146 pounds which was an all time high for me. While I was not sick or nauseous the first trimester I still managed to lose 3.5 pounds and I just said my body was redistributing the extra fat I had. I never counted calories and I still ended at 183, 37 pounds above starting or 40.5 pounds above my low.

With this pregnancy I started at 140, not my goal of 135 but I was just happier to be closer. I am counting calories this time but don't stress out if I go over, which happens maybe 1-2 times a week. I'm 12 weeks today and I've lost 4.6 pounds! At 12 weeks during my first that was also my lowest and I started to gain, but with this pregnancy I started lower and I'm losing more, so I'm kind of freaking out. None of my measurements have changed (waist, belly, chest, hips), just the weight. Would you be concerned losing weight with a normal BMI and no sickness or nausea?

Also, when do you start adding calories to each day? 12, 13, 14 weeks? Thanks ladies!

I am going to be 12 weeks on Friday and am down about 4lbs, but it dropped off in the beginning, when I barely knew I was pregnant, and I've maintained since then. It's been hard to find the sweet spot for for maintenance calories, and it's also been hard to tell myself it's okay to gain weight, which may be why I haven't gained yet.

If your weight is steadily going down at this point in your pregnancy, then I think you definitely need to eat more food. I don't think you need to be concerned unless you eat above maintenance and don't gain weight.

Your metabolism increases when you are pregnant and for many women it results in a wt loss- my midwife wasn't concerned at all when this happened to me. Keep being healthy and don't stress!

I don't know what you have your calories set at but you might should eat a little more. I have fluctuated throughout my pregnancy but never actually lost weight. You shouldn't be gaining a lot though either by 12 weeks. Looking back i gained almost 1.5 pounds at that point.

Thanks ladies. I have a doctor appointment today so I asked her as well and she wasn't concerned about the weight loss. I asked about calories and she said normally 1800-2000 and an extra 300 when you are pregnant. I had my calories set to maintenance at 1740 and I just increased to gaining half a pound a week so now I'm at 1970. That feels so weird to have gaining weight as a goal, it's just feels wrong.
