Here is an elongated view of the Chicago Art Institute. There is a pair of lion statutes which stand regal guard over the front entrance to the museum. I have been attracted to those old copper-oxide hide Kings of the Jungle since I was a kid.5 -
And on the inside the art display is from around the world. This iconic American piece is by Grant Wood and it’s aptly named, American Gothic5 -

Worked from home today. Wife is ill at the moment (sore throat/cold). Hopefully will be better soon. Trying to give her as much chance to rest as possible.
Walk before dinner. Good to get out.2 -

@Bill70Strong. @victorious55. Thank you. I'm working hard to as much as I can around the house to give her time to rest and recover.
Despite being ill, she is keeping to her new eating plan and still reporting low morning blood sugar readings despite being ill. Usually when fighting off illness, the readings skyrocket.6 -

Tried to be good and eat food at home, nice simple and healthy. I made a complete disaster in the kitchen, burning turkey meatballs and sauce, exploding sauce all over, etc. Was pretty hilarious. So instead my calories were spent on sushi takeout. Maybe that's what I wanted all along....2 -

Exercise: active horseback riding in the prairie. Trying to get the new horse used to the wide open spaces and to not freak out at the sound of deer moving in the bracken. Pretty good 75% of the time but once he gets nervous, he does not recover his equanimity until we get back to the barn area. One hour of very active riding

Early morning weights training. Tender muscles in legs, but I'm coping.
Crazy insane day at work with intern quitting with no notice when I needed to be off site for a trade show. Spent all day dashing back and forth to deal with stuff as my colleague freaks out in crisises. Got to jiu jitsu late so missed warm up but made up for it by choosing tough rolling partners and fighting hard. Got a couple of chokes in (it's amazing how good that is for stress relief) and coach told me after class that he had been watching me and WELL DONE!!!
Tomorrow evening I'm taking my nieces to watch Charming (which is the story I have been talking about for years. Seriously, those princesses took forever to figure out what I have know since I first heard fairy stories).2 -

Thought I was going to be over by 20 & was resigned to pass Day #2. I was jogging in place 11:55-midnight & thought I’d missed it & then my app showed my deficit of 2 calories!!! Whew.

My labs are all perfect. This is SO worth it.
