This is The Four Seasons a mosaic by Marc Chagall. It’s a series of mosaics which depict spring, summer, fall and winter in Chicago. It was dedicated in 1974.
I really love visiting the city of Chicago but I live enthusiastically in the country8 -
That's pretty!
I thought I'd be over calories today I had a bowl of muslie after dinner but I'm still ok, lucky I ran this morning! I think I need to drink more water so that's my aim for the next few days.

So when I finished training my business done and over, I was supposed to wait till the next day but...forget it, I packed up my stuff and went home. I won't be surprised of finding a speeding ticket in the mail in the next few weeks too but got to say goodbye to my dog. Goodbye little girl.6 -
Haven't felt well this week. Focusing on nutrition and trying to get enough rest.8

Exercised?: Yes. 3 km walk in 24 mins (hills).
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Worked from home today. Late walk.
Managed to go flying tonight (for the first time in weeks). Still feel under-prepared for the weekends racing, but at least I got some air time.
Wife is still doing great. I'm so proud of her. Her morning blood sugars still in the normal range. I am expecting her daily insulin doses will need to be reduced again soon. The weight is continuing to come off too (extra hard to do when on insulin).
@GardenMama129. Hope you feel better soon. Sounds like you are doing all the right things.
@RangerRickL. By their very natures trainers are not supposed to go easy on you - even if you did have to be up at 4:30am. btw, 4:30am I refer to as "stupid am" (ie. I had to get up at stupid am, just to catch a flight).

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? YES ✅ Swim for 25 mins + 35 mins walk
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? YES ✅ only just - ate back exercise cals
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES ✅ even the Lemon Meranguie Pie and the bite of my daughter's chocolate cake.
@RangerRickL -if you like street art - you should visit Barcelona if you've not already been. You can also day day/overnight trips from there to places like Figueres, Cadaques and Collioure and the coastal areas around there - where quite a lot of artists and famous artists came from or were inspired by. Well worth the visit.5 -
Exercise is going so well at the moment. Today was strength in the morning which included assisted pull ups. I let go of my ego and increased the assist to 30 kgs but was able to do 5x5 sets (which means in pull ups alone I pulled over 1000kgs) When my assist was 20kg I did 5, 4, 1 which totaled pulling 500kgs.
Nearly skipped yoga at lunchtime but my friend said she would go with and I'm glad we went. Definitely don't do enough yoga.
Jiu Jitsu class was awesome. Some tough rolls but really good and figured out some aspects to help areas of my game I have been struggling with.
I was hungry for the whole day but I had packed quite a bit of food (trying to reduce the amount I eat in the evenings by eating late afternoon) and spacing it out was keep satisfied enough (plus I try not carry money with me so if I want anything, I actually can't even go and buy it.)
Good choices and under calories! Actually, I could even have a bit of chocolate. Lifting weights means I should be getting close to my goal not too far under and I've already had loads of protein!8 -
Yes no yes.
Nice 45 min walk, family debs celebrations saw me over indulge and go way past my calorie target.
But I've logged it honestly. Honestly, I have.2 -

@eminater My daughter, Diana, lived in Barcelona for a semester, but that was 20 years ago. Rose and I are starting to plan a trip to Spain during the month of September of 2019. We intend to be in that area for a month and strolling along La Rambla is one of the have-to-destinations.
My report:
Easy day exercise: a 20 minute stroll. I am recovering from the young trainer's attention to detail
Tracking: ok
Calories: less than 100 calories under my limit...that is a squeaker.5 -

Arrrrgh! Over on calories. I lowered my limit to lose weight, and was doing well, although I'm starving. We had a potluck at work, and it was so hard to track. It was all salads, so I wasn't awful, but I did dive into it.
I think I need to learn to eat smarter in general, to stave off hunger and desperation. I'm going to add more eggs, high fiber veg and beans to fill up. In the back of my mind, I worry that I've reset my metabolism by dieting and have done myself in,
Anyway, tomorrow's another day. I had my tango lesson today, and walked the dog.4 -

Your plan sounds great.
If you’re starving, perhaps consider decreasing your calorie deficit & losing more slowly?
Or take a diet break where you maintain for 3-4 weeks. I did these periodically to prove to myself that I *could* maintain the new, lower weight.
Also, I find some things decrease hunger & some increase them. Each body is different. Consider tracking hunger for a week to see if you can find any patterns - good or bad.
Things that decrease hunger for me:
Protein (which you mentioned!)
Fiber (ditto)
Water
Strolls - light walks, longer distances
A good night’s sleep
Low stress
Self-care
Nuts (raw or dry roasted, no salt)
Big breakfast
Paying attention, eating slowly, savoring each bite
*******Not letting my hourly calorie deficit drop below 400 ********* except during the night when I’m asleep
Things that increase my hunger:
SALT (just figured this out) - amazing!
I thought it was sugar and white starches/sugar, but it’s the salt.
Stress
Boredom
No exercise
Too long a stretch between meals
Distracted eating1 -

@GardenMama129 I too have felt lousy this past week. I'm blaming it on my trip but truth be told I have unexplained exhaustion at times. Docs say it's my anti rejection meds. I've learned to cope knowing I'll feel better soon. I hope you start feeling much better soon. You are wise to listen to your body and pace yourself. Sending hugs.

@MadisonMolly, Wow! this is great! Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. I especially like the idea of diet, maintain, diet, maintain. Everything you've written is practical, useful and doable. Your post is really helpful to me, and I'm sure to a lot of others too.
