Wow! MFP is not working well tonight. I had to take a round-about way to get to this discussion. Nonetheless, it's the 15th and it's time for Non Scale Victories. For me, I have lost 1" of belly button waist measurements since beginning to work with my personal trainer, Emily, at Anytime Fitness. That's my NSV. What about you?

August 15th:
Exercised: Yes - 30 minute walk
Calories: Yes
Tracked: Yes
The first 2 weeks with this group have been very do-able. However; in the past I have done a solid fortnight on a few occasions before using MFP on my own, then - despite feeling great and seeing progress - seem to lose momentum and end up self-sabotaging my diet. I am really hoping that I can avoid the temptation this time around now that I am in this group.5 -
Exercize: 3h mtb ride

Exercised?: Yes. 4km walk at lunch, 10km walk after dinner (North Sydney).
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Not in Sydney next week. Going home tomorrow. Super busy tailing everything up.
Long walk tonight. Last chance to "take in the sights" for a while. Walked bridge and opera house.
@RangerRickL. Love reading others non-scale victories.
Mine would have to be maintaining size and fitness for over 12 months (and keeping in UAC circle).
Also 100 push-ups a day (50 before shower and 50 after shower) does not seem difficult (does not even break a sweat or leave me out of breath). When I started, this was impossible.

Good day. Started with 45 minutes of Jiu Jitsu and a 30 minute run. Morning with the snakes and then a session with my rehab guy (new challenges in the balance front for my ankle). Went for a 45 minute sports massage which went on for 90 minutes because she felt I needed that much work! Feel so much better now. Food shopping and meal prep tonight because I was away on the weekend.
My NSV will have to be choosing healthy options when I grabbed food on the run after missing lunch.
Also at a really good place in my Jiu Jitsu. That doesn't mean I dominate every roll because I roll more with people better than me, but I make it hard for them and occasionally catch them!
Have to skip early morning training tomorrow and not allowed my wake up coffee because I need to have a fasting glucose test. Luckily booked for earliest opportunity so not too long to wait for my coffee and it's Jiu Jitsu class in the evening.
@craigo3154 100 push ups a day! I'm impressed. Which reminds me, I need to work on my pull ups...7 -
Happy Mid-Month UAC-era!!
Popping in early for NSV celebrations!! This is my favorite day each month; I love hearing from you all!!!
NSV: Yesterday, I fit into my smallest, fitted shirt (has a zipper on side from armhole to hips) and just pulled it over my head (forgot it had zipper) & then looked in mirror and thought “No way!” In March, I couldn’t even pull it over my chest. Even a month or so ago, I couldn’t zip it and neither could hubby. LOL so I put it away again. Wore it all day & night.
NSV: Yesterday was the first day I felt thinner all day. I think the abdominal vacuums are working!
Other NSV: I’ve upped my average steps substantially. Average is now > 10.3K
(And that’s lower than it would have been because I started lifting weights at Pilates and doing HIIT Ex Bike about 1-2 times per week.)
NSV: My waist is slimming down...I am increasingly hopeful that I can get it to a healthy size for my height and hip size!! First time I’ve felt it will be possible.
Much gratitude for all of you & the inspiration of @RangerRickL and @craigo3154 !!9 -
Yes x3
Highlight for me was my maiden voyage on my new Brompton bike. Just magic it was.
Food choices all good and logged.

Yes x 3.
NSV day!!! (but how is it half way through another month already?!)
Exercise today: lots of walking. Completed my second 30 min run of the last c25k week today.
NSVs:
I can slow jog for 30 mins
Fitbit says my resting heart rate is fitter.
Today I went on a walk which has 100 steps up which normally are a challenge. Today felt fine!
I bought some jeans a size smaller this week.
Today I jogged a different route. It had some small hills. Agh!
I've been able to jog to catch up with my daughter (2.5) on her scooter and balance bike and to "run run" with her when she requests it as part of her games.
My daughter expects me to go out jogging and will regularly say in the evening when my husband comes home that it must be time for my run. I feel this is a victory that at her young age she expects us to be being active and knows some forms that can take.
Encouraging to write these down as the scale isn't complying with my efforts at the moment!

PASS DAY 3
I was set to go for a bike ride today but had a flat. I got the flat fixed but then was going to go to the gym instead because it is SO humid out. I was so hungry today and tired that I decided to use the pass day and eat a little over my calorie limit and not exercise.
It will be interesting to see if I can make it through the rest of the month with no pass days. I'm determined, though, and very proud of myself that I have gone half the month and am still in the winner's circle at this date.10 -
No NSV to report other than I'm still in my desired maintenance weight range. Today's report not so good after indulging in a chocolate milkshake!
Exercise? Yes, indoor walk with DH at the mall out of the heat and humidity.
Calories? No, over by the milkshake!
Tracked? Yes, everything is logged.6 -

Yes x 3! Yes 3!
MRI showed a benign mass in my knee, could be the cause of inflammation and knee pain. Could be totally unrelated. In any case, there weren't any rips or tears - the knee is healthy. I've been cleared to walk, and do simple physical therapist approved exercises. So I'm gonna walk my dog for the first time in almost two weeks. My awesome boot camp gym is run by PTs, they're gonna put together a custom workout for me!
Several NSV came from this.
First, I never in a million years would have thought that not being able to workout or even go for a simple walk would depress me. "Who am I?" Apparently I'm a person who likes to move. Very different than who I was a few years ago.
Second, today the PT said that it was a good thing that I was strong and healthy to begin with. This issue might have been much worse otherwise. He didn't seem worried about long term issues because of my activity levels. Again, I was such a couch potato for so long, this just made me so happy.
It's not a phase, and it's not a temporary thing. I have a healthy active lifestyle! I've lost 35 pounds, and kept it off for 4 years. Because I still have at least 25 more to go, I tend to think of failures in my friggin long plateaus. But this experience changed my perception of myself.
It's been a good day! Hopefully the mass in my knee isn't an issue and no surgery is required, that remains to be seen.10 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 90 minutes weight lifting and a 30 minute leisurely walk.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yep
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yep6 -
Yes x 3 - My nsv is getting back to doing an intense workout before breakfast. I have coffee with almond milk, and plenty of water, but no food until after exercise. I had gotten into the pattern of putting off my workouts because I find it hard even after a modest breakfast. It is good to sweat first and eat after - walking and other quieter exercise can then just add to the day. I have also maintained for almost 7 years now! Keep getting stronger. It feels great.6

August 25
Exercise yes
Calories yes
Tracked yes
Today's thoughts on NSVs:
Able to stay on track in spite of bring away from home for a month and even making winners circle in spite of that.
Comparing pictures from a year ago and seeing a much fitter self
Much more energy and enjoying exercise. That speaks volumes--you will start making excuses if you don't like to do it.
Thanks to all for sharing thier victories
Keeping track and committing is the key!!

Yes 3x. 45 min bike
My NSV is having worked exercise into my day - consistently. Looking to add something new.5 -

Yes X3
NSV is to not need the scale to determine how you feel.....that number is not as important as the lifestyle and health achievements6 -
Yes x 3
@RangerRickL, non-scale victory is I can do two pull-ups. Not a big deal for a lot of people, but I'm thrilled, and shooting for 3 soon! If I lose weight it'll be easier.4 -
Yes, but only walked the dog 2x per day. I kinda don’t count that.1
