Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?

Thanks as always for the wise words @craigo3154 you've seemed so busy lately that I'm so impressed your good habits have stuck and you've still found time to share your wisdom.

"You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make them drink". However, if you leave them by the waterhole long enough they will eventually get the idea.

So many of use who have experience success in health/weight/size management think "If only <insert name of person you care about> would do like I do and get healthy/lose weight/get fit/be more active/etc....". The BEST way to encourage them to do things to help themself is to continue to do it yourself.

By being an example, I am now starting to get genuine queries from friends and family as to how did it (and how do I continue to do it). The simple answer is always find the healthy habits that help you the most and keep working on those till they stick.

The first habit of success is self honesty. Unless this is sorted out NOTHING else can be achieved. Unless you truely give up self deception you will always weasel your way with excuses.

The second habit of success is self forgiveness. Allow yourself to make mistakes, the honestly allows you to admit them to yourself. Once a mistake is make, learn from it and move on. Sometimes you need to make the same mistake a few time to learn. That is OK. Each time resolve to attempt to do better next time and continue.

This leads to the the third habit is keep showing up. Just a little each day (not a lot on a few days). By continuing to show up, the hard stuff becomes easier over time, and eventually automatic. This approach works on everything (not just health management). Keeping on showing up you initially you start to get less failures, which leads to small successes, then larger successes.

Hope all have a great day.

This is simply brilliant. Thank you

Thanks, @craigo3154 !!! Baseball fans would describe your words today as "you hit it out of the ballpark!" Well said.

For me, it's the tracking that keeps me from eating whatever I would indulge myself in eating. The tracking acts as a brake. I need that brake.
    Today:
    Tracking: okay
Calories: just under my limit, but I did not need anything more
Exercise: yesterday was a very big effort day, so today is a walking day.

Happy Birthday, @RangerRickL Hope it’s fun filled

Yes 3x. 2 hr archery-ing. Outside in the hot so my ‘teacher’ / hubby wouldn’t disturb anyone.

Exercise: just the bare minimum. Intended cycling but it was damp and muggy so I passed on it.
Calories: yes within my allowance. This IF 16:8 fasting is da bomb and it suits me.
    Tracking: yes

    Ex: 68 mins, 10,876 steps
    Calories: 2248-1606=under 642
This never happens, but I fought hunger all day, but vanquished it -finally- with a walk & some food after. Funny story: my largest calorie deficit in a long time & still not really hungry this AM (but will eat breakfast as I always do!)
I’m learning that when I am hungry, I can eat.
    Tracking: yes, all!!

Camping. Decided to eat after getting settled in and not track. It was good, but I didn't feel as good later. Looks like my body has decided it's more comfortable with smaller portions. :)
